How likely are you to recommend Rowan Psychiatric and Medical?
What patients say on Google
“At the first visit Karissa Johnson seemed understanding and willing to help. Second visit my appointment time got pushed back 3 times and when I called to ask why I never got an answer and had to rearrange things to fit the appointment into my schedule. Today yet again she has pushed my appointment. I do not plan on returning to someone who can not respect my time.”
“This place is an absolute joke. Doctors do not listen to anything you say. Provider tried to put me on a medicine that she knew caused adverse effects. Then she “called in” an over the counter medicine in place of that one. If I needed OTC I would not be paying a doctor to call it in!”
“Smells like cat piss, also try’s to keep billing me for a VA community care appointment, which has already been paid. Do NOT recommend.”
“If you value your health and your sanity you'll stay far away from this place. These so called doctors are quacks that just want to throw pills at you so that they can get their kick back from the pharmaceutical reps. I went to see them because I had issues with borderline personality disorder and next thing i know They had me on 8 different medications! They misdiagnosed me multiple times. They claimed I had bi polar disorder, major depressive disorder, and a billion other things. I've never been manic a day in my life! I ended up in the hospital twice thanks to them. One was because of Adderall and Buspar prescribed together which sent me into serotonin syndrome and the other was because they prescribed Vraylar and Wellbutrin together which made me have severe seizures. You'd think medical professionals would know what can't be prescribed together due to interactions but they either don't or just don't care. There was another time Dr Hill "accidentally" tripled my dose on one of my meds and thank God I caught it myself before taking it. I finally found me a new psychiatrist far away from Wilkes County! If your in need of psychiatric care travel, it's well worth it. My new Dr is helping me come off of all these unnecessary unneeded medications these quacks stuck me on and it's been pure hell, withdrawal is no joke but I'm doing it! I'm finally free from this! I thought I was doing the right thing reaching out to get psychiatric help but it nearly killed me and that's sad and scary. Also their idea of counseling there is a joke! There's nothing at all helpful at this place. I am getting a lawyer in the near future too but for now I'm focusing on self care but they won't get by with almost destroying my life. If you need psychiatric care I am BEGGING you DO NOT see these doctors! Dr Dimpka, Afnan, and Hill just want to throw pills at you, dangerous pills. These psychiatric medications are deadly if you don't know what your doing. There's so many interactions and their addictive and they totally change your brain chemistry and you'll lose yourself. Coming off of them is a nightmare too. Please travel outside of the county and get real help. I wouldn't wish what these doctors put me through on my worst enemy.”
