“Went for a mental health crisis 6/15/26 around 5:30pm and was told I could speak with somebody for immediate help and then possibly get a mental health assessment. The black male receptionist who I spoke with on the phone was extremely kind, friendly, informative and helpful throughout the entire process. However, the Living Room Program person David who they had me speak with was entirely dismissive and unhelpful. When I explained my OCD crisis I was in at the time and actively in the middle of a panic attack, David told me to try taking deep breaths and just to remember it’s all in the hands of God. When I explained simple strategies like that are not working and that’s why I am in fact in crisis I was told that getting an assessment would be a problem for me since I don’t have insurance. The receptionist seemed to be the only one who really cared about my problems and encouraged me to get an assessment if I truly felt it was needed regardless of my insurance status. And continuously assured me that he was there to help in any way and explain the billing process for uninsured folks. Unfortunately, since he was not the counselor/care provider there’s only so much he can do. David told me his understanding of OCD extends only to his wife who “wants to be in control” and he just has to remind her to calm down. This is NOT what a true OCD crisis is for folks experiencing an actual OCD spiral! And much more help is needed beyond this. Rosecrance, PLEASE do better in hiring individuals who are going to be face to face with people in crisis! I’m very grateful to have gotten MYSELF to a point of clear headedness to where I didn’t get worse and present any dangers. No thanks to Rosecrance. 0/10. PLEASE don’t go here if you are experiencing a mental health situation. Find anything else. Hospital, police station, hell I’d even rather you call ME personally!! This is DANGEROUS”
“DO NOT EVER GO HERE!! My dad was admitted here. He was going on TWO days with ZERO sleep. They refused to give him any sleep aid but thought it was a good idea to administer SCHIZOPHRENIC medicine to a man who has been diagnosed bipolar for 40 years. He was having a slightly manic episode with ZERO sleep and needed to “reset” if you will. They did not take the time to sit and talk either him to find out his psychiatric state, but instead administered a random med and THEN accused him of saying some crazy crazy stuff so they could pass him off to Swedish American. Swedes has done a WONDERFUL job because they actually know what they are doing, as well as being trained properly in handling crisis in mental health, and were able to have a conversation with my dad to determine he was NOT hallucinating but was manically ruminating on “what a bad person he was” on top of insomnia coupled with HIGH blood pressure. The staff at Mullberry Rosecrance are incompetent and about 12 years old mentally. Matter of fact, my 13 year old daughter could run that facility better. A joke. No wonder why people take their lives. If you care about your loved one getting help I highly suggest you avoid this place at all cost. My life mission will be to shut this place down.”
“Rosecrance is a great place for learning survival copying, skills and techniques, including life lessons for all addictions. Thank you for being amazing I'm a fan and I have nothing to say but positive things about rosecrance and all that they offer and do.”
“Rosecrance denied me access to their crisis residential program without proper evaluation or any effort to accommodate my needs/disability. I have dysphagia, a diagnosed swallowing disorder. I take my prescribed medications crushed, which is something I manage safely and independently under the care of my psychiatrist. I was called back after my assessment and told that “crushing pills isn’t allowed” and they are “not equipped” to handle that, with no medical review or alternative offered. I have NEVER had this problem at another mental health facility. This kind of blanket policy, especially from a mental health provider, disregards disability rights and may violate the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). I wasn’t asking for complex care. Just a basic, standard accommodation. No written denial, no attempt to problem-solve, just exclusion. If you live with any medical condition or require accommodations, be extremely cautious. **Also FYI because this is NOT mentioned on their website: they told me it’s a “step down” from inpatient, but the stay is longer than inpatient, you cannot bring any electronics and anything with strings, and you cannot smoke either.**”
