How likely are you to recommend Rogers Behavioral Health?
What patients say on Google
“I cannot say enough wonderful things about the programming and staff at Rogers. The work they do is life changing for young adults. If you are reading this - and you are trying to decide between Rogers and Compass - do yourself a favor - and chose Rogers. Compass may look shiner and more put together (speaking from experience) - but they run their facility like a business. Rogers is compassionate and helpful. They are not only treating the child, but also the family and caretakers.”
“CYA: Not medical advice, educate yourself and start things with the end in mind. TLDR: If you’re going to go sober off substances *demand* to be tapered off all psych meds too (or just taper yourself off it’s your body, and your choice) Dr. Sameera Guttikonda manipulated/forced me into going inpatient rehab and told me and how I’m lucky to have the opportunity to go” :/ …. Once I arrived, I HATED IT (stopped living life) and demanded every day to leave and left after 4 days after arriving (despite being told how I’m wasting the opportunity at every moment)…. Once out I finally just tapered myself off antidepressants and I feel much better now (no longer have severe suicide ideation and addictive tendencies)”
“I’ve debated writing this review for over a year now- Rogers in Hinsdale was probably full of some of the most unprofessional people I have ever met. I myself work in healthcare and struggle with contamination OCD. People go there for various reasons. I witnessed the “therapists” make people do these exercises that appeared to be humiliation rituals. It’s as if the staff got off on publicly humiliating people. Making people look like idiots and justifying it by saying it’s to over correct their OCD. I felt embarrassed for my peers and couldn’t understand the rationale behind these “exposures.” With one of my fears being contamination- they made me use medical lancets (needles) to prick the fingers of strangers without gloves on and wipe away their blood. I explained to them that this is a task I would wear gloves for at work, but they kept pushing “over correcting” on me. So I did it. Thinking they had my best interest at heart. They were not able to help me here. So I ended up needing to go to residential in Wisconsin. Another Rogers behavioral health facility. When I told my doctor there what exposures Hindsdale made me do they were immediately concerned. The following day after telling them about my previous exposures, they informed me that I would have to get blood work done to check me for blood borne pathogens I may have been exposed to while being at Rogers in Hinsdale. I feel completely let down and betrayed by those at Hinsdale. Those who I entrusted in to help me. But instead they appeared to want to put me in harms way, and for that I will NEVER recommend this place to anyone. Jerry and Kayla let me down. I never once received a phone call to apologize for this behavior. Never once was reached out to by anyone in Hinsdale to ensure that all of my labs came back normal. If you’re someone reading this who needs help with your OCD please talk to a trusted physician about other places you may seek help.”
“I can only speak for the virtual PHP program for OCD/Anxiety, but I would never recommend this program to anyone struggling with OCD. My regular therapist (who used to work for Rogers) highly recommended the program to me based on how it was ran when she worked there a few years ago. She said they were the best out there for ERP therapy and how they specialized in exactly what I needed. Well, things have greatly changed since she has worked there and I ended up wasting 4 weeks of potential recovery on useless group classes and subpar 1:1 therapy. To say that this program is ERP based is a joke. I was thrown into my first day not knowing what I was doing and it never really got better from there. The group classes are all DBT based and most were not relevant for what I'm going through. The facilitators are horrible at running the groups (with the exception of maybe 2) and is just a bunch of reading handouts and little to no group participation. There was never even any mention or discussion of OCD within the groups. I was confused as to why some of the people were even there because when people did participate, it didn't seem as though they were experiencing anything similar to what I was. It seemed like a lot of mental health issues were lumped together with no reason. My 1:1 therapy was so awful that I ended up having to contact the clinical supervisor to try to change therapists (which I was not allowed to do and told to give her a second chance after following up with her about my concerns). I felt that my "therapy" was merely a quick check-in instead of ERP therapy. I was emailed handouts to read, given assignments that were never followed up on or told why I should do them, and I was given exposures to do completely independently with no explanation or guidance. I had an exposure log that my therapist never looked at or asked for. I could go on and on, but if you are considering this place for OCD/Anxiety PHP or IOP treatment... don't do it! I am one day in at Compass Health and when I tell you it is a breath of fresh air, I mean it!”
