What patients say on Google

“Riverside is the best medical mental health facility I have ever stayed in in my life. My mother was beaten real bad and I was traumatized very bad. I slept in the bathroom and they were very patient with me. I learned a lot of coping skills with my mental health as well as skills that I still use today. The outpatient team was awesome and if I could put an awareness on people on the staff that were there when I was there. . The outpatient team was awesome and if I could put a awareness on people on the staff that were there when I was there it was the best experience I ever experienced in life and if I could go back, I would to do as some people deal with me.”

“The kid's unit is terrible. There are a couple nurses who actually care for the kids, but most of them don't. If you ripped your paper scrubs, they would say it was for attention, which would lead you to be in paper scrubs the entire visit. Kids forcing themselves to throw up in the bathroom would also be seen as attention seeking, so nurses wouldn't do anything about it. They would get irritated if you had a breakdown. Doctor told me I was lying to him when I said I didn't take any opioids and that a medication I was on comes up as an opioid on drug tests, then repeatedly asked me where I got them from. Place is falling apart and freezing cold. You will come here vulnerable and get treated like a burden by the people whose literal job is to take care and comfort you. Called my parents every night begging to be moved to a different unit, ofcourse only a 15-20 minute call once a day because there is only one phone on each side, and too many patients to let them get a call twice a day. If you're lucky you'll get the nurse who draws cats, she seemed to be the only one with empathy.”

“My dad was admitted to Riverside for hallucinations and memory concerns. The nurses, doctors, and other staff members did an amazing job with him. They kept in constant touch with me via phone calls or in person and were very thoughtful listeners when we asked questions. He stayed for about 10 days and he thought his stay was very beneficial. He was in the geriatric unit. I would not hesitate to recommend this place to other elderly people who are having similar concerns as my dad. Thank you, Riverside.”

“Nurses bruished my sister a week ago who was there and patients apparently were jumping over nurses stations and beating the nurses up. Investigation underway”
