What patients say on Google

“Crazy I was scheduled for two appointments in March one was for a mental health evaluation my doctor canceled on me a month in advance and couldn’t get me in when I have been fighting for this for so long they said the next available was April 12th I hung up. I got a call again today from the office here to get a notice my new psychiatrist i was referred to canceled my appointment again which was in March. I’ve had trouble with my other psychiatrist listening to me now this? It’s a joke the doctors can okay these appointments and then take off but god forbid we get sick and have to cancel on them. I get if it was an emergency but it’s not. Just playing around with my time and health I’ll be seeking other services somewhere else.”

“1 star only because they have good nurses. The new drs are terrible, they don't listen at all. If you have hard to treat depression or anxiety please save yourself and go somewhere else unless you have the energy to defend yourself, repeatedly explain yourself, and want to leave the office feeling worse than when you went in, then by all means this is your place. I've reached out to patient advocates twice about this place and never got a response. Forget it.”

“Incompetence at its finest. Though it didn’t start that way. Riverside took me in a critical moment in my life which I am grateful for. Dr. Debra G was what a Psychiatrist should be. She helped me get stablized. She was a major contributing factor in me finishing a college degree. However when she left, I had Dr. Belford which diagnosed me with seemingly every mental health condition. OCD was the biggest reason I suffered though. You would have thought they would have treated it with a proven medication. Nope. This was not the case. Instead I was put on lithium and a whole other cocktail of meds. Years later after my Mother passed I had to go to treatment outside of the state only to find out that i could have had gene site testing years ago. Having had a brain mapping done, it was discovered I didn’t have bi-polar disorder. I called nearly every week struggling. No referrals out to a different psych provider even when asked. I still for the life of me can’t imagine why a brain mapping or gene site test wasn’t done. Thankfully as a result of the treatments done outside of Illinois, I was put on a proven OCD med in which I finally found relief. As great as it was to be able to think on my own, I feel as a 28 year old that I am a toddler learning how to walk. The medicine had been around since the 1960’s. I overcame 7 years of unimaginable suffering despite every attempt by this incompetent hospital structure to undermine medical progress in pursuit of higher profit margins. Seriously how do you get it that wrong that bad for so long? Also don’t you dare to be honest enough for them to send you to “hospital” which is a glorified gulag. While those in charge go home to stable established home environments I am learning how to be an adult at 28. Who pays for this incompetence??? Simply not riverside. I can’t get those 8 years back. My advice….. Reviews matter. There is a reason why this place is not glowing with great reviews. Do your own research. This a system best served for slightly mild mental health symptoms at best.”

“Im finally putting it out there I've been here 10+ years and had doctors turned out like tricks I've been tossed around so much I've seen over 10 doctors Belford being the longest of 8 years and her departure was not discussed with me You dont do that to someone suffering with BPD its diabolical and don't get me started on their inpatient treatment at their hospital. Your rights are stripped immediately and it's worse than prison I'd rather be in prison in solitary than be in a mix of every possible mental health issue. Just sits us all in a fish bowl for the kiddies inpatient to see! Yeah let's show kids the mentally ill adults who god only knows why they're there.”
