How likely are you to recommend Regions Behavioral Hospital?
What patients say on Google
“the best hospital ive stayed at. really feel like i am finally on the right track going forward :) they have some of the funniest and most personable techs and nurses on sight btw”
“I admitted myself for alcohol detox. Although I didn’t really withdraw at the hospital. I did tapering and WD at home, just went there for peace of mind when completely stopping since I’d never done that before. I’ve been to Elemental (The IOP Dr khan works at) twice. Hence how I found out about regions. I’ve only been to one other mental hospital before and it wasn’t a bad experience, but it was uncomfortable enough that admitted myself to regions was quite difficult for me to do. But I was pleasantly surprised by my experience. It’s a very nice facility. 2 TV’s , which patients get control over. They have a shower room which you could use in privacy (which was a big thing keeping me from going prior, I like my privacy and at the previous facility the shower was shared by 4 people and didn’t even have curtain). Pleanty of smoke breaks, if you’re a smoker. The food was pretty good I’d say, although it was kind of funny. Some days it was not much food and other days it was a lot of food. Not complaining though. I loved the techs, they were all super nice. Griffin, Jenny, Maya, there was like a hippie lady I liked but I forget her name lol, again, I forget the others names but they were all great. They really seemed to care about us, I think atleast some of them had mental health struggles of their own. The nurses at the nurses station were nice. I was already familiar with Dr Khan, he was great of course. And his psych Emily was great as well. Overall I really enjoyed the experience and if I have to be hospitalized for any other reason again I’d either attempt to sign myself into regions or request it if that’s an option. Oh and I forgot to mention, the phones are another huge plus. There are 3 phones and I think technically there are supposed to be rules but they were super lenient. I was able to use the phone as many times a day as I needed and I never got kicked off of it for like being on too long or anything. So that’s a plus. definitely go there if you’re seeking treatment. I can’t express enough how pleased I was with my experience.”
“I actually just left. My stay was 9 days and I had a good time. By the end, I was extremely bored though. The majority of the staff are really kind (shout out to Shapri, Trevor, and Emma, my favorite Techs) and Dr. Khan and Emily the Psychiatrist are super cool. All of the staff are really laid back and it's genuinely a good time if you meet the right people. The food can be hit or miss but it was pretty good and we got a lot of snacks. If you go, you most likely will gain weight. You can't vape here but there are plenty of cigarette breaks and if you don't like cigarettes then break your nicotine habit. As simple as that. This center is a place for detox as well as mental health and they help you a lot along the way. I hope this hospital gets more budget because it's one of the best in Louisiana I'd say. If I ever need to stay in a psych ward again, I will be calling Regions. Thank you ”
“This was my first time in any facility. I self submitted with then diagnosed drug induced psychosis a couple years ago. I wasn’t allowed to have my vape because I could have snuck drugs in it they said? So I instead was smoking cigarettes for my nicotine habit, which was disgusting. The only outside time we got was in what looked like a concrete box. I ended up just staying in my room as much as I could and then signed myself out. Which also had a hold, which I agreed to. What I did not agree to was that I had to have someone come pick me up. No one ever told me that. I called the lady I knew that referred me to the facility in the first place and she said she’d pick me up after an appointment that day. I told the people at the facility. They later told me they called her and she said she wasn’t coming. So I called her against and she told me she was. I then asked to call a cab. Which at first they didn’t want to let me do. You know these things here are HORRIBLE for someone in that paranoid psychosis state of mind. I was literally about to start freaking out. I’m sure some of the people there themselves are actually lovely, I appreciate how they threw me a little party for my birthday after I got there, but my experience with the way they do things otherwise was absolutely not it. I went there to get help. Not to be made to feel like I was trapped. I went to jail not long after, also my first time. It’s crazy how comparable the two places are. I’m still sober after 2 years, but this place still has me in a fit when I think about behavioral hospitals.”
