What patients say on Google
“Not trustworthy, Patient from practice in Lexington who was overprescribed meds. I was a relatively normal case of depression but was given heavy antipsychotics among other things that were not necessary, trusting the doctor with my lack of knowledge. I started heavily abusing substances during that time and went to treatment. When I got back to see him, as punishment for being dishonest about the drug abuse, he threatened to have me committed to a psychiatric facility if I didn?t go voluntarily. His justification was a letter I wrote talking about my feelings, of which there was no mention of wanting to harm myself or others. I was released very quickly by the psych ward doctor when they realized I did not belong there. I should have at least tried to file a malpractice suite but it felt like there was no chance, since on paper I’d look like the crazy psych patient. This was years ago but in my opinion people like this usually do not change. Tread carefully if you decide to see him is all I am saying.”
“Dr Pumphrey is terrible. He nearly ruined my life with an incorrect diagnosis. He has an arrogant bedside manner too. Thank goodness I got a second and third opinion who both agreed Dr Pumphrey was incorrect. These other 2 providers agreed on the same diagnosis, which was in a totally different area of psychiatry. Steer as far away as you can get from Dr Pumphrey!”
“Tried calling several times. Missed a call back. Called again. No return call. Can't get help if doctor can't even call to set an appointment!! Very angry!!”
