What patients say on Google

“All providers listen actively and have great compassion and concern for patients! They include me in my healthcare and respect my privacy and concerns both thoroughly and professionally and respectfully! That is hard to find in the psychiatric profession! I am deeply grateful for the support and encouragement I receive in real time situations instead of the long appt wait times with rushed providers! I’m grateful for psych plus and their dedication to including my opinions and experiences into my care is priceless!”

“My appointment with Jasmine was so good that I want to change from Dana Lewis to her from now on. She listened to me, and instead of imposing her will and knowledge on me, she took my opinions into account. Now I don't know if it was because I am 60, thus an elder to her, or if she is just the best of the best Nurse Practitioner that you have, but I've been to a lot of psychiatrists in my years on this planet, and she has been the best. I told her that I wanted to start doing TMS because antidepressants I can afford have failed me. You see, I am on a Medicare Advantage Plan for my health insurance, so I cannot afford the newer antidepressants that very well could help me. So I have a specialist copay of $10 so that should make TMS within my budget, I hope. Now I told Dana Lewis that I wanted TMS. She said that she had to tell that department, but I think I saw her twice, and nothing ever came of it. Now I have some urgency with this, so that did not sit well with me. Regardless, Jasmine was very personable and professional. And I had pneumonia when we had our virtual call so I was not at my best. I hope to be in better health during our next appointment so I can at least be presentable. A+ for Jasmine!”

“Absolute worst experience Ive had at a medical clinic in my life! Completely unprofessional! I was called less than THREE HOURS before my appointment and told that all of a sudden the Dr I was seeing is no longer in network! Asked if I want to pay out of pocket and I said no. Then a couple hours later, like an hour before my appointment they called back to tell me that “oh nevermind she is in network, we just verified it” so I told him “Ok. I will be there at my scheduled time” even confirmed that it was still at 4 oclock! When I get there, the receptionist takes my Id signs me in and tells me to wait to be called. So I get called in she takes my weight and blood pressure and then tells me to wait in the room for the DR. FORTY FIVE minutes go by and the receptionist comes back in and says “did you cancel your appointment?” And i told her that I confirmed it with the last person to call me and told him very clearly I will be there. She then tells me “oh well it was cancelled and shes booked up so she cant see you today” After I took off work a wasted my entire afternoon!! If i could give zero stars I would. Absolutely pathetic!”

“The doctor was very kind and professional, but my experience with the front desk staff was extremely disappointing. I explained that I had already met my annual out-of-pocket maximum and should not owe a copay, which had also been confirmed by my insurance company and reflected in my recent visits to other hospitals and clinics. However, the front desk staff member refused to re-run or verify my insurance and repeatedly said he could not do anything. His attitude was dismissive and condescending. When I asked for help, he mentioned medical assistance in a way that made me feel as if I could not afford care or was trying to avoid payment. This was particularly frustrating because the copay was only $25, and my concern was never about the amount itself, but about how I was being treated and the assumptions being made about me. That was very uncomfortable and inappropriate, especially for a mental health clinic. In the end, I decided to pay for the time being, because I assumed that once the Explanation of Benefits was processed, any incorrect copay could be refunded. However, the office only accepted credit cards or cash and did not accept Apple Pay or Google Pay, which I was not informed of beforehand. Since I did not have a physical card or cash with me, I asked whether I could pay online later or manually provide my card information. Instead of simply answering my question, the staff member kept telling me I could cancel or reschedule and said he did not want to waste time. Eventually, I was able to provide a virtual card number and the issue was resolved, but the entire interaction was unnecessarily stressful and humiliating. I understand that front desk staff may be limited by office policies or billing systems, but patients should still be treated with basic respect and professionalism. The doctor was great, but the front desk experience was unacceptable and significantly affected my overall impression of this clinic.”
