“Two stars because the therapists are amazing. However, the psychiatrists are incredibly irresponsible. They want to do nothing but prescribe you a laundry list of medicines that you don’t need, even if they aren’t working for you. Their appointments don’t last longer than 10 minutes but charge you for a full hour. Don’t even get me started with the billing department. Overall, they will direct you to the psychiatrist even if you don’t need it and the psychiatrist will want to put you on 2-3 unneeded medications even if you just have mild anxiety. After seeing a second opinion and being told how outrageous their medical advice was and hearing how dangerous the combinations of medicine was in consideration with my level of anxiety, I never came back here. Best if anyone who cares about their well being do the same.”
“I absolutely love my therapist here so please don’t think this review has anything to do with the services I’m receiving. The billing department woman I just spoke to was extremely rude. I called to try to dispute a missed appointment, I’ve been a patient for over a year and never missed an appointment. My balance is pretty high as I’m stressed about it as well. The lady from the billing department said in a snarky tone “your balance is pretty high are you going to pay anything today”. All she had to do was politely ask if I was going to make a payment, not shame me for it. She has no idea of my situation, how arrogant. I work in the mental health field, and I know things happen, she also works in the mental health field she should be more considerate. Didn’t need to be shamed for my $300 balance.”
“Was told I had to see a therapist in order to see a psychiatrist. That was fine, needed to see one anyway. Was called and ?'s were answered by different office staff from different locations. That could have been a big part of the problem. After all of the phone calls, the paperwork ( that was very confusing ) and seeing the therapist.... still didn't get to see a psychiatrist. Was told it was a "misunderstanding" ? I'll say!! Was told I could go to the emergency room if I was in crisis? I felt WORSE after my interactions with this group. Very defeating to a person already feeling defeated. Don't know why 3 stars are highlighted... didn't feel like checking 1”
“Go here if you want a total nightmare with insurance related mishaps. Extremely disappointed with the receptionists at this location. I visited this location for a total of 4 sessions last year all of which are completely covered by my family's Employee Assistance Program. Here's the timeline: before even booking my first appointment and becoming a new patient, I called my EAP number to inform them of my choice of visiting PCA and received a confirmation number from them that would COMPLETELY COVER my 6 visits with PCA. With this number, I then proceeded to call PCA's Collegeville office and gave this number to the woman who picked up the phone, processed me as a new patient, and booked my first appointment. She expressly said, "I have the number and will add it immediately." ...Lo and behold, over a month later and 3 visits in, I'm at the office window and am told by the receptionist that I don't have anything set up, no insurance coverage, no nothing, to which I tell them that all the necessary information was handed to (Katherine was her name?). The receptionist said I should still call back and give them this number again, and the EAP phone number for them to call just in case, and guess what, after doing all of this they again said, "okay let me input this information and follow up with you later", to which they evidently never did because now, ONE WHOLE YEAR LATER I have a bill saying I owe 100% of the visits. I have CONFIRMED AND SETTLED my 6 visits, not once but TWICE. how do you drop the ball twice?? I think worst of all is the fact that representatives at the EAP have called this office multiple times to literally HAND YOU THE CONFIRMATION NUMBER and the office has not been able to follow through. As another reviewer states: DO NOT waste your time and money. Update: Just called my EAP for what is now the 3rd time and they informed me that this location keeps billing ME when they should be billing EAP. This is now going to be the THIRD time EAP calls them and follows through with their total carelessness. On a related note, Susan Singer ends sessions 5-10 min early (in no relation to scheduling either). Once a patient in the waiting room mistakenly visited an hour early and went to Susan's office, to which Susan came out over 10 minutes later and said it was actually my turn, yet she took that 10 minutes out of my session making it half an hour instead of 40. Not ideal if you're paying out of pocket, thank goodness I'm not.”
