What patients say on Google

“The therapists here are great, no doubt. It’s everything else about this place that deserves 0 stars. Good luck trying to get ahold of anyone in the office. Every time I’ve called to cancel/reschedule an appointment there’s no answer and they never call back even when I leave a voicemail. Also, be prepared to pay $100 if you cancel your appointment within 48 hours, even if you’ve tried to call before then and couldn’t get ahold of anyone. This place is very quick to take your money however they can get it.”

“Seems like a lot of the issues people have with Psychological Health care begin with themselves. If you're upset because you're not willing to take your child out of school even though they desperately need therapy, that's on you. Find someone else instead of trashing a facility based on your own issue. I've gone there for 8 years and feel very comfortable. Nice staff and wonderful therapist.”

“Warning: Received first bill for my husband's therapy today. $529 per hour!!! What on earth?!! He was told his hourly sessions would cost about $120; What they did NOT specify was that was after it went to the insurance company. They submit a HUGELY padded fee so when the insurance company makes their 'adjustments'...they get paid an average fee of $120/hour from our pocket anyway. As if dealing with mental illness isn't hard enough. Good grief.”

“First off, let me address some of the complaints I’m seeing in reviews here. Most poor reviews are given by people hitting that ‘1 star’ option as a quick gut response to their anger/frustration over billing issues. I’ve never had a problem with billing or being overcharged. The people at PHC are very nice and friendly; talk to them and they’ll work with you! I did have a problem once where my employer changed insurance companies… and my particular therapist didn’t take that brand of insurance; I explained the situation and they offered to switch me to a new therapist. When I decided to stay with my current therapist and pay out of pocket they gave me a considerable discount to help with costs so I was able to continue working with her. Just ask! Anyway, much like ‘real world’ relationships, not every patient-therapist relationship is going to work fabulously. A therapist has her/his own style; if you don’t click with one, ask for another. They won’t take offense. With therapy you get out what you put in, it’s that simple. Done correctly, it’s hard work. The therapist is there to bring clarification and yes, sometimes coax things out of you, but ultimately you own the responsibility. If your child is seeing a therapist, you are responsible for helping that child to get the most out of the experience. When I first started going to PHC over a year ago I was lucky enough to see Nora F (on the right). She has since left the practice (due to a great opportunity in her field), but she is indicative of the type of caregiver you’ll find here – engaged, compassionate, and always challenging you towards the wellness goal you’ve created together. We miss you Nora!”
