What patients say on Google
“This review is from my wife who was the patient. I had my first telehealth appointment with this psychiatrist and it was, without question, one of the most disrespectful and distressing medical interactions I’ve ever experienced. From the start, she showed no interest in listening. I was repeatedly cut off mid-sentence and never allowed to fully explain my concerns. Her tone was rude, dismissive, and condescending—completely inappropriate for someone working in mental health. What was most shocking was when she accused me of mistreating her, despite the fact that I was calmly trying to advocate for myself while being interrupted and talked over. Instead of attempting to clarify or de-escalate the situation, she abruptly ended the appointment by hanging up on me. After the call, I was left crying, shaking and feeling absolutely horrible—far worse than I felt before seeking help. A psychiatric appointment should never leave a patient feeling destabilized, dismissed, and emotionally harmed. In my opinion, this behavior is dangerous, particularly for vulnerable patients seeking care, and raises serious concerns about her suitability to be practicing in this field. I would strongly caution anyone, especially first-time patients, to think carefully before trusting their mental health care to someone who shows such a lack of empathy, professionalism, and basic respect.”
“I have had really bad ADHD all of my life, but I wasn't officially diagnosed until I was in my 50s. Dr. Shakil has been very helpful in monitoring my medication. I am glad that she offers televisits as well. It makes life so much easier!”
“Dr. Shakil has been my Dr. now for over a year. If there’s one thing I’ve learned it’s that she truly cares about her patients and their well being. She’s not a “pill mill” and will give you the time and attention you deserve when it comes to your mental/physical health.”
“I have been seeing Dr. Shakil since 2021. We have a great relationship and I feel that I can trust her! She is very caring and understanding. She celebrates with me when I have good news and seems sincerely happy! She understands and respects my wants and needs.”
