What patients say on Google

“Was seen by two Dr's here. The first, a resident, was nice and seemed to listen to my symptoms. The supervisor at that time however was less than pleasant with some of the things she had said. Saw another Dr, a resident again I believe, was very helpful the first appointments and we seemed to have a good plan. However, time management is VERY poor. Waited over 30 minutes for one appointment after the scheduled time. Another appointment had me waiting over 25 minutes, and there was no sign of the Dr. If you're going to say you specialize in perinatal and work with parents, I would think time management would be better, considering a parents time is precious. I would not recommend this office for psychiatry unless you have plenty of time to be sitting waiting far past the scheduled time.”

“Ive been going there for over a year. My first Dr Mr. Henderson was great!!! He listened to my issues and continued my medication Ive been on for over 25 years. Now he has graduated and this new doctor is only concerned about how we need to try different meds (Guina Pig). I was threatened to have my meds stopped if I don't consent to an ECT, This is where they sedate you and put your brain into a seasure to erase your memory!”

“I can’t say enough about Dr Stephanie Collings and the way in which she practices psychiatry. I was beyond broken due to severe pain from a work injury when I walked into her office, and Dr Collings was so calming and kind to me. I was barely able to form full sentences because I was so very deep into my depression. Dr Collings took her time and truly listened to my every word and created a plan to help me move forward. It has only been four weeks, but with the adjustments to my meds, I am in a much better place. Although I still have a ways to go, at least I have my daily functionality back where I can continue to progress. I can honest say that I look forward to my weekly visits with her and can’t wait for them to get here.”

“Reading the other comments, I feel sad for their experiences, because mine has been COMPLETELY different. I have been going to this office for almost 3 years now. Attendings do rotate, but in my experience, they only look over what the resident doctors decide to do and check on the patients to verify that they are ok. It's a 5 minute or less pop in at the end of the appointment. I've only ever seen two resident doctors during my time here. The first left the practice, so I was transferred into her replacement's care. I've now seen Dr. Alden for about a year and a half. I noticed that many of the commenters don't seem to know the difference between a psychiatrist and a psychologist, and are expecting things that a psychiatrist doesn't provide. This is a center for psychiatry, meaning that they specialize in the way chemicals effect the brain and they use medications to improve mental health. Medications work differently for every person, so it can take multiple attempts to find the right medication and dosage to help a person, especially when that person has complex mental health issues. A psychologist does not prescribe medications and uses therapies to work through trauma and mental health struggles. So if you need therapy and don't want medications, or feel that you need both, you need to find a psychologist to add to your list of providers. Back to my experience here. I absolutely adore Dr. Alden. She listens to my concerns, answers my questions, and gives me the freedom to choose when she suggests any kind of medication or changes. It's been a long road with my mental health, but I feel like she helped me finally get my medications perfect. I'm doing great, and it's all thanks to her. I will say that their phone systems are absolutely useless. I use MyChart to contact them, it's much easier and faster. Also, if you are having a mental health emergency, please just call 911. Don't try to reach your psychiatrist who isn't equipped to offer that kind of help anyway. I highly recommend this office for help with mental health care where medications are needed.”
