“I think about the time I asked for help. Talked to the ER doctor in near Irmo, SC. His words sit with me like a flame to a fire. You feel unsafe? Yes! Okay you will have some weird person sit outside your room, have local law enforcement strap you to a chair, commit you, while others throw chairs, talk about the bugs on their skin, including Mr. Set himself on fire, or Mr. Throw himself in front of a moving car. Then you will have a black woman off of vacation tell you not to file for divorce. Ask my original assessment therapist. She is deceased. Apparently I was held for 72 hours for not showering. Fancy that I sat at the desk waiting for my personal possessions so I could shower. The one thing I appreciate is the staff not letting Mr. Lorey know anything. I will remember that day always. There is a man asking about his wife? But you let us know you don't want him to know anything? We let him know you are okay. I don't know ask him about the day before? I'm rolling my eyes at the investigators. I apologize lack of.”

“If i could give this place zero stars I would. This place is absolutely terrible. When you walk in, both of the secretary check in staff are rude and disrespectful. Then the psychiatrist there are the worst. Mine was Dr. Mynarska, who is a med student. This place doesn't even use real psychiatrists, but interns, to do their work for them. This women wouldnt help with my medications at all, wouldnt discuss changing them, and refused fo refill them at times even if I couldnt get an appointment in time for my refills. I never once met an actual doctor that wasnt in training. This place is a joke. Also, the interns swap out every year so by the time you get used to the intern doctor, they switch it up on you. I showed up on time to my last appointment, I told the receptionist my name, and sat down. Forty five minutes went by so I went to check and she told me I never signed in. I got the manager involved and her and my doctor said I couldn't have my appointment even though it was their fault for not checking me in. They then sent a letter to me on mychart canceling me as a patient and refused to let me reschedule. I am going to run out of medication now thanks to this doctor. I will now run out of medication, and have no way to find a psychiatrist in time before I run out of my meds. This place is TERRIBLE and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, ever. Please DO NOT go here.”

“This is a great office to visit if you enjoy being talked down to or like the resident "Dr's" treating you as if you're stupid and trying to take advantage of them. "Dr" Atwell and his "supervisor" (who couldn't even bother to walk in the room' OR even shut the door before it 100% dismissed my concerns)- REAL professional! If you hate your patients that much you should find either job. These guys DO NOT give a SINGLE crap about very real and potentially life threatening concerns that you bring up. They'd rather tell you you're wrong and what happened to you isn't possible. Very few doctors in my experience have shown so little care for me as a patient. He unapologetically discriminated against me simply over an event that took place 10+ YEARS ago. Never asked for my side of the story. Additionally, I do a lot of reading and thus keep up with a large deal of medical research. Dr Atwell called me stupid when I referred to the DSM- however I misspoke and was actually referring to The Ashton Manual. I will be changing to a different office as soon as they can get me in. Today's experience has me seriously weighing my options for legal action against this office for discrimination. They like to make asinine assumptions and treat you like a criminal regarding old events yet refuse to bother asking about the real details--- much less show the slightest bit of empathy. It only takes 1 lazy or vindictive idiot entering incorrect info into your chart for them to call you a liar and make accusations for the rest of your life.”

“Would not recommend. Her first therapist was awesome, they changed her to someone else when her therapist graduated. The new person can’t do therapy sessions only med management, mind you it took months for us to see her because she only works once a week on a Wednesday and just told us after months of waiting to see her that she doesn’t do therapy only med management . She just gave me a list of people to call myself to find my child a new therapist because she works a full time job and is just a medical student. If you need any help with your mental health find a place that actually does care about mental health and will assist you with finding someone else not make excuses or just say here call them yourself and see if they can take you. This is why so many people don’t get the mental health help that they need or deserve.”
