What patients say on Google

“I cannot thank Dr. Shah enough for all he has done for me. I’ve been diagnosed with MDD, GAD, and SAD. Through my long mental health journey Dr. Shah has always been in my corner and willingly to help in any way. He is an amazing doctor who cares so much for his patients. If I message through the portal any concerns or had any problems with my medicine, he responded promptly. I’m so happy I found Dr. Shah and his staff have been so kind. They have been great to communicate with and very patient. If I had any complaint, I’d only say sometimes it’s hard to get them on the phone. But I understand they could be busy. Regardless, I still would recommend Dr. Shah to anyone who wants mental health help. I’ve been under his care for about 8 years and I am forever grateful for him.”

“TL;DR: they won’t refill any of your medications on time so you WILL have to go without or ration your meds. They also will tell you it’s okay to quit a medication cold turkey when that is VERY dangerous advice and wasn’t safe to do with this medication at all, according to my primary doctor. I’ve been going to this office for over a year now and I was seeing improvement with Dr Keri Kendall but now I am quickly regressing because this office REFUSES to refill medications on time. I was diagnosed with ADHD and put on stimulants by this doctor. I can’t even count on one hand how many times I have reached out to them to refill this medication and they took well past the time I was due for a refill to finally send it in. I’ve had to ration my pills for the last few months because they take their time getting back to you for a refill. The front office does NOT communicate. About a month ago, the main doctor who oversees all prescriptions was out on vacation for the week and NOBODY TOLD ANYONE ANYTHING ABOUT THIS and I once again had to go without my stimulant medication, just cold turkey. That is absolutely dangerous to someone’s mental health to be on controlled meds then to suddenly not. Now, once again, my pharmacy sent in a refill request for a NON CONTROLLED MEDICATION, and it was just radio silence. I had to message my doctor and ask her to PLEASE RESPOND TO MY PHARMACY AND REFILL MY MEDICATION. Two hours later, she sends me a copy and paste message that says “Thanks for your refill request. Please allow 24-48 hours for us to review the refill request and send it in.” Are you joking? Why didn’t you just do it right then and there?! It’s not a controlled medication?! My pharmacy asked her for a refill A WEEK AGO and she ignored it and now I have to wait all weekend for my VERY IMPORTANT sleep medication that literally helps me sleep at night because of my insomnia. I HAVE NEVER had such a difficult time getting refills from a doctor’s office before. I am getting fed up with it and am about to seek a different office to receive psychiatric care from because it is clear they do NOT care about your mental health here. Oh! Also! I had told Dr Kendall I was thinking the antidepressant she put me on wasn’t working and she told me I could just quit it cold turkey, it was just one dose. How WILDLY inaccurate that was!!!! There is multiple doses of this medication and after asking my primary doctor if I should just cold turkey, they told me “absolutely NOT” and prescribed me a few days of the lower doses so I could properly wean off the medication. It’s VERY concerning that a psych doctor isn’t educated in mental health medications as she should be. I am SO GLAD I asked my primary doctor for a second opinion.”

“It’s been about a year since I’ve had to interact with the front office staff and thank goodness for that. When I arrived for my first appointment the staff was not very welcoming. I found it weird, but we all have off days. My next appointment was virtual and they called me about an hour before to get payment stating there was an issue with the card on file. I tried several times to give them card numbers and kept being told it was declining, obviously this was upsetting to deal with right before my appointment when I’m trying to seek help for my mental health I called AMEX and they stated they could see no attempts to run my card and no declines. I called back and asked to speak with the office manager letting her know that I called my card company and there were no attempts to run my card and no declines showing on their end and how bad of an experience this was and my previous interactions with the front office had also been negative. She then said I was the one being rude by and a liar (about how cold office staff was) and accused me of fraud stating that I had disputed the charges with Capital One. I don’t have Capital One and asked if she had the right patient, she assured me she did. I asked to pay for that visit with another card since I did receive that services and want to pay any debt, she said it wasn’t possible. Since all calls are recorded I asked that my calls be pulled and listen to see where the mix up happened with my card and asked for a follow up on the matter. I never received a follow up. I called back several weeks later to initiate follow up and was told they pulled the calls and the matter was resolved. I never received an apology for how I was treated like a thief and them intentionally not running my card and saying it was declining (per the card company) and no apology for the lack of follow up. Unfortunately this is one of those places where the provider has been great, but the office staff makes me dread my next in person appointment.”

“If zero stars was a possibility or even negative stars I would be rating it -5 stars. As someone who has struggled with bipolar disorder, generalized anxiety disorder and severe depression for the last 16 years of my life I’ve met with many psychiatrists this was by far so bad by the middle of the session I told them I would never return to meet with them. I did not meet with the main doctor since he was so far booked out and instead I took an appointment with the Nurse Practitioner (keep far away from her as she seems not to know anything at all). I have tried many medicines over time and in my very short 15 minute session I told the NP which had worked well in the past and the dosages. The NP determined a 1/4 dosage of what had helped me in the past with my anxiety is what will be needed for me. These professionals are going off a book have never felt these symptoms and feel they know everything. I explained at no point in my 16 years has a bipolar medicine helped with my anxiety she didn’t care and decided to perscribe me a dosage to set me up of horrid panic attacks and failure. Not sure what the lady’s name is she is not a doctor simply a NP, stay as far away from her as possible. Find a different provider office all together.”
