“I started seeing Pioneer Counseling last April after being hospitalized for a week due to severe depression. I was fortunate to find a wonderful therapist and nurse practitioner there who truly listened and helped me find a medication that finally worked. For the first time in a long time, I felt like myself again. I had motivation, I was happy, and the negative thoughts were gone. I’m very grateful for the care those providers gave me. Unfortunately, the office repeatedly billed my insurance incorrectly, which caused ongoing issues. I spent a lot of time trying to help resolve the problem myself by calling both insurance companies and my pharmacy to try to get the medication processed and sent. After four weeks of trying to get my medication filled, I finally had an appointment for treatment today. I took an Uber to the office and waited about 30 minutes, only to be told that they still hadn’t received payment from the insurance company and therefore could not provide my treatment. I really wish someone had called me ahead of time—especially on Friday—to let me know this before I made the trip. Instead, I was left standing outside in the rain waiting for another Uber home, feeling extremely discouraged and knowing my depression is starting to worsen again without treatment. My therapist and nurse practitioner were great, but the billing and administrative process was incredibly frustrating and ultimately disrupted my care. I would strongly recommend that anyone going here stay on top of how their insurance is being billed to avoid ending up in a similar situation. Now I’m left trying to find a new therapist and nurse practitioner and essentially starting over.”

“front office people are HORRIBLE to deal with you walk in the office youre ignored. They say they will call and never do. the therapists are great but how we were treated by the women that makes/cancels appointments was enough to push us away. they canceled a appointment 20 min before it was time but yet if I would have done this I would have been charged $100. where can I send my bill for the late cancelation?!”
