What patients say on Google
“I briefly just read a couple reviews. Several years ago I was taken to this facility upon agreeing to rehab for someone to pick me up from a very abusive situation. The statement made in the review about asking for information several times and not being answered is the reason I got up and walked out. I was told once I go behind them doors there isn't any leaving until I was told I could. That was the only info given. He refused to tell me anything else about it. Ignored my questioning as he didn't hear me nor care to make me feel safe and had no concern if I needed to be there or not”
“They were laughing and joking when we walked in for our emergency crisis, knew they couldn’t accept him due to his lack of insurance, then sent him by ambulance to the hospital which only discharged him hours later! If they can’t run a professional business and get the staff replaced they need to close! They were rude with me the entire time and while I tried to stay calm I made sure they knew laughing in front of someone in a crisis situation was unprofessional!”
“Brought in against will for despiteful reasons and was treated as if I had mental issues and put in waiting rooms with people that had severe issues. I heard everything these people had going on mentally, one girl was talking to a nurse in another room about something she did to a dog, I mean absurd and HIPAA violations for sure. The lady at the front desk signed my initials on computer documents I couldn’t even see, another HIPAA violation and very illegal thing to do! I heard people yelling in the back and they said oh they are just watching football, the whole experience was such a traumatizing experience. Staff were rude when asking questions about being there, they didn’t want to be bothered at all, threatening me saying that will make me have to stay. I had no idea of the process (which I asked multiple times) and kept being called to different people not knowing what’s next. They brought a lunch that looked disgusting while I was waiting, didn’t even ask people their likings. The lady said “did you not see the sign out front that said Pinewoods? This is Pinewoods hunny!” I said no I didn’t with the way I was brought in and she said well you will just be hungry and I said I sure will, thanks but I work too hard for that! There is a big guy that sits in the hall way monitoring these people and he thinks he is perfect on his throne with the looks he gives and the attitude. Absolutely rude staff all around at a scary dull place! The staff act as if they need to work in a prison, not with mental patients, I feel bad for admitted patients willingly there or not. Thankfully the doctor saw no fit and released me immediately. Do better Pinewoods!”
“Some staff here are decent, but others have no business working in mental health. Security would instigate fights with vulnerable patients. A Black female nurse with colorful hair was telling a patient to harm another patient. Some female staff flirt with patients and spread gossip. This place felt more toxic than therapeutic.”
