What patients say on Google

“I spoke with Jenny on the phone she was the most patient kind woman I’ve ever spoken to I felt heard, validated and seen by her and she welcomed me to come get help for myself and she also made sure that I was able to get here with ease and continued to check on me. I want to make sure Keri, Rogayle, Dr. Isabella, Hannah, Sean, and my lovely nurse Miss Jeanette are also mentioned for their support kindness and patience. I came in ; in the middle of a very dark episode for myself and they were very patient with me, they were very kind, they were graceful. I’ve been inpatient before and this was the most safe and welcome I have ever felt coming to take care of myself. May god bless each one of you daily for as long as you love. You all do Gods work and deserve a raise,! They need an award for being tv most inviting staff I ever met and a special shout out to Robert the security man who flagged me down during my walk to the correct building and getting me there safe sound and quickly.”

“Mixed experience here. I dropped off a family member to be admitted. The initial intake for was fine, the social worker, doctor, nurses, etc we spoke with were great and showed genuine concern. However, when my family member was discharged and I came to pick them up, I called the phone number on the huge sign that said “patient pick up”. Spoke with the operator and said (shocker) I was “picking up a patient” but he acted wildly confused, asking what I meant by this. He told me to go to building E and when I went in, another man at the front desk looked at me like I was an idiot when I told him I was picking up a patient. He was also shocked and acted annoyed when I didn’t know the name of the unit he was in? This was never communicated to me. (A woman I met at the front desk on a different day was perfectly helpful and sweet) I don’t pick up family members from mental health facilities on the daily so maybe try being a little less annoyed when someone is asking for help.”

“A terrible experience. I was going through a rough patch in my life and needed help so I reached out to Pine Rest. I called beforehand and asked processes and what to expect, they told me to just show up and bring bring ID and insurance information so that’s what did. I was admitted as voluntary inpatient and that’s when the fun began, the will hold you for 72 hours even being voluntary and I Brought no extra clothes or anything so I have to wear the same stuff for 3 days. The main concern is they put someone like me that’s just having a crisis with people that have severe metal issues like schizophrenia and anger issues and just mix you in with them, I felt unsafe the entire time I was there and even watch them restrain a couple patients that were extremely unstable, my roommate kept going on about his anger issues and wanting to hurt people, that really Made me sleep comfortably 🙄. They will deny you basic healthcare products like a tooth brush and soap. It’s not a place of healing, they are there just to profit off people with metal illnesses or are just having a rough patch in their life. It was the most horrible experience of my life. Avoid this place at all costs”
