What patients say on Google
“My family sought services through Pilsen Wellness Center because we wanted support for our child and genuinely hoped to build a partnership that would help him grow and succeed. Unfortunately, our experience over time left us disappointed. Our concerns were not based on one bad day or one isolated incident. They were based on a pattern. We experienced multiple appointment cancellations, limited communication regarding our child’s progress, and very little collaboration between the therapist and parents. As parents, we believe it is important to understand what goals are being worked on and how we can reinforce those goals at home. Too often, we felt disconnected from that process. In addition, our interactions with the front desk were frequently frustrating. Families seeking mental health services are often already under stress and trying their best to advocate for their children. We often felt dismissed rather than supported when asking questions, discussing scheduling concerns, or trying to understand our options. The customer service experience consistently left us feeling unwelcome. What disappointed us most is that we never felt like our concerns resulted in meaningful changes. Over time, trust and confidence in the process began to fade. We are sharing this review not out of anger, but out of a desire to provide honest feedback. We have decided to pursue services elsewhere because we believe our child needs a different level of support and communication. We sincerely hope the organization takes feedback from families seriously and continues working to improve both the quality of care and the overall experience for the people who walk through its doors. Families seeking help are often in vulnerable situations and deserve to feel supported from the moment they arrive.”
“Very disappointed!! My son showed up to his appointment and got told he was cancelled due to too many missed appointments. Was never given a warning or anything prior to this. Spoke to Claudia who was very unprofessional and could not help me and was just given information to relate (SO helpful). Claudia lied and said Jesus which was my son’s therapist gave us a warning prior which is a flat out lie. So be careful they will cancel you without a valid reason and no warning whatsoever.”
“Please do not entrust Pilsen Wellness Center, 2600 S. Ridgeland Ave. in Berwyn with the care of your children. Especially LSW Oscar Zapata Sanchez. He may be licensed but he's incompetent and unfit to properly assess and treat children.”
“I am quite disappointed. My daughter was on a waiting list, and I received a call offering an appointment. I was told the only available times were 10:45 AM and either 12:15 PM or 12:25 PM; I can not recall precisely. But I took the 10:45am slot.I asked the receptionist if there were any later appointments after school, but she said no. I replied that it was alright, as my daughter truly needed to see the psychiatrist. I requested a letter for her school, and the receptionist said she would provide it on the day of the visit. However, on the day of the visit, my child's father forgot to ask for the letter. I called to explain the situation and asked if they could provide the letter on Wednesday, as I had an appointment then. The receptionist agreed. I even confirmed this with the therapist. My appointment was rescheduled to Friday, so I did not receive the letter on Wednesday. Today, they informed me that they do not have the letter and, in fact, do not provide such letters. Up to this point, I was okay and never asked names because I didn't want to be rude. Since they always talk too fast when they answer the phones or ask something. However, casually inquiring about colleagues' meal plans or immigration status is highly unprofessional. I have not yet addressed this behavior, as it has not directly impacted me. I had already told my kids' school that I was going to provide the note. Now I look bad. I wonder if they pause to consider whether this is how they would want someone they care about to be treated.”
