“I was referred here by my primary care doctor. Within three days of my referral I received a call to schedule my first visit. The team was great at accommodating my schedule and I was able to get in to see Carrie within a week! I have gone here twice. My first appointment was with Carrie for my medications and then I saw Ashley who is my psychiatrist. They are both very nice, personal and down to earth people to talk to. Understanding and really showed care and respect for my needs. I have no complaints about my visits and look forward to working with both of them in the future.”

“This establishment's Psychiatrists are 5 stars. Their Therapists are 4 stars. Their Front Desk is 4 stars. The establishment and its policies are 0 stars. The staff I had helped me throughout my 4 year struggle to win in court for my disability. Upon winning it, I not only gained disability but qualified for QMB status (Which provides even further payment coverage for low income individuals), which is supposed to be protected. By technicality, this establishment doesn't do anything illegal. Instead, they've chosen to not accept Medicaid at all, allowing them to legally drop and deny service to current patients that gain QMB status. By not accepting Medicaid at all, they never deny QMB patients directly for QMB. This happened to me and I was told explicitly that it all future appointments of mine were being canceled due to me obtaining QMB status. I was advised to get rid of my QMB status if I wanted to come back otherwise I should seek out a different establishment. If you're self-pay or use Medicare you won't run into these moral failings. If you have Medicaid, look elsewhere.”

“I have had several issues with admin here. My psychiatrist is great as is my therapist so I have overlooked these issues but when I request ownership of the lack of communication in billing issues and am told I need to keep up with my own appointments I have had enough. I have physically showed up for my appointments. The first presumed no show was because I was told 330. It was even written on one of their appointment cards, but the booking was for 3. I get there at 315 and I can’t be seen and I have to pay because it’s a no show. Fine I tell myself. I have t established a relationship with this therapist yet, so fine. The next presumed no show - the receptionist says I must pay the balance or she can’t check me in. At this point I’ve always paid. I was told they would waive the fee because I tried - the issue being not having my HSA card, the REQUEST being can I pay next time and I’m told no. That receptionist is no longer there and the two new folks have let me be seen without asking for payment first, saying I can get it from you after (which if that courtesy was given I would have had someone bring me my HSA card while I was in session) so suddenly what was their “policy” isn’t. Okay fine. Let that roll off. Then I called to reschedule. Typically I get an email to confirm appointments. This time I did not get one. They are closed Fridays and so the appointment that I’m not sure actually got scheduled is supposed to be Monday. It’s Monday - no confirmation email. I called - I asked what happened - I’m told “you were a no show” I didn’t even know if my appointment was appropriately booked. Then I’m told well our system does this as a courtesy - no documentation, no verbal notice, not even verbiage to say that in the confirmation emails. That is all internal knowledge. But I am expected to accept that and still pay for a no show? Now - perhaps all of the details of the other scenarios were not shared. I get that, so I call because I work during the day and was in a meeting when Becky had time to call me back. She leaves her call back number - voicemail. I leave one - I use one of my breaks to wait. I call several times because I cannot keep going back and forth to answer personal calls during my work day. Hopefully this message will reach someone to appropriately resolve this issue. One last issue I’d love to add - I request medication- medication that should not be skipped mind you, it never got sent to the pharmacy. I reached back out after 4 days of nothing…turns out the weekend physician dropped the ball. I dealt with that pretty graciously, but after three issues - THREE - and this being the fourth…I do not deserve to be dismissed. And - they are out of my network…what has kept me going are the two stars I granted…Two stars - one for Sydney and one for Zoe and half for the one admin who is still there who I’ve never had a rude interaction with - thank the Lord the other lady is gone. Goodness I used to have to carry the weight of her emotional load…when I’m there to handle mine. You would think a psychiatric office would understand those issues about their customers.”

“Superb providers! I am a lifelong healthcare professional who has been treated by this practice since 2012. Dr. Smith saved my life; Terri, Becki, and the other office staff members provide excellent service in a timely manner. I would recommend Piedmont Psych over any other practice in the area to most patients who need therapy and/or psychiatric medication management.”
