“I cannot say enough positive things about our experience here with Dr. Joe Roszkowski. After years of trying different counselors and therapies without feeling like my son was really benefiting from them, this has been an entirely different experience. From our very first appointment, my son was made to feel comfortable and welcome. As his mom, I have also really appreciated being included when appropriate and being given practical guidance on how I can better support him. I have learned a great deal myself through this process. One of the things I appreciate most is the approach to counseling. He is incredibly encouraging and supportive, but he is also straightforward. He doesn’t simply tell us what we want to hear. He asks thoughtful questions, helps identify what may actually be going on, and then gives practical strategies that can be used in real life. That combination has been extremely helpful for both my son and me. My son has autism, and of course there are things that may always be challenging for him, but within just a few weeks of working together, I was already seeing growth and positive changes in him. After years of counseling where we often walked away feeling like we hadn’t really gained anything useful, seeing that kind of progress meant a lot to me. I have also been incredibly impressed with the Saturday group therapy sessions that Dr. Joe leads. My son absolutely loved participating and got so much out of them. The activities and exercises aren’t just about getting kids together socially—they teach skills, encourage them to think about themselves and others differently, and give them opportunities to practice what they are learning. Seeing how many children and teens participate and benefit from these groups has made me appreciate even more the work being done here. I cannot say enough about our experience with Dr. Joe and wish there were more support services like this out there for teens. His work and his practice is definitely making a difference and I wish I found him sooner.”

“Very disappointing experience. My daughter was seeing an intern, Farrah Beidas, MA (not yet licensed), and I had concerns going in about the level of experience. Unfortunately, those concerns were validated. I felt completely dismissed as a parent during a serious situation involving my daughter. I had asked to speak before the session, but that request was ignored, and my daughter was taken in without any communication. Throughout the time my daughter was in treatment, I was not given updates and had little to no understanding of what was being discussed or addressed, which made me feel completely out of the loop as a parent. When I was eventually brought in, the interaction felt confrontational rather than supportive. Instead of working together, I felt judged and unheard during an already stressful situation. I also became concerned about the direction of the conversations, as I felt my role as a parent was being undermined. After I left, authorities were contacted without what I felt was adequate communication or an opportunity to fully understand or address the situation. This escalation added significant and unnecessary stress. I understand the importance of safety, but I believe situations like this require clear communication, collaboration, and appropriate oversight—especially when less experienced, pre-licensed clinicians are involved. I would recommend caution and hope this practice improves how situations like this are handled.”
