“This is long, but for the time and money we’ve spent here, it’s justified. I don’t feel right leaving this practice without making other people aware of what we’ve gone through. I’m sad I even need to post this review, because the therapists we’ve had at Pathways have always been remarkably good. Inclusive, knowledgeable, kind, and deeply caring for their clients (in my case two kids 9 and 6 years old with anxiety/attachment issues and ADHD/autism). Everyone was so sweet with the kids, all of our therapists and the lovely receptionist Gina, who we will deeply miss. I’m attaching a picture of the room we came to love to spend Wednesday afternoons in, with someone who loved her job. It was evident in the way she spoke to and interacted with the kids; in the fun games and ideas she came up with that integrated therapy techniques in a relatable and cool way. Her room was decked to the halls with crafts, art, games; things our therapist poured her own heart and money into- see the picture! She was a remarkable therapist and we will miss her terribly 😔 However, despite how good the therapists here have been, the director has now fired several of them without allowing them adequate time to say good bye to clients and transition them to someone new, and no explanation to us. Our first therapist here ‘left suddenly’, after we had seen her for only four sessions. I had come to Pathways BECAUSE my daughter had been so hurt and confused about her pervious therapist being suddenly unable to continue care. I was assigned to someone who was very sweet. Both her and the practice ensured us we could build a lasting relationship, but 4 weeks later, she was gone. It seems our next and second therapist was allowed a few weeks to transition care. We saw them for a year, and then they left. We were yet again told we’d be placed with someone else, and we were so happy with who we got transitioned to, despite the difficulty with another transition. The third and most recent time today, we got an email that the full time therapist we see there was no longer working for them effective immediately. If it were for a severe case/legal issue I may understand, but this was nothing of the sort. No contact was allowed with patients, nothing, end of story (HIPAA won’t allow it). A full time, incredibly kind therapist who we’ve known for a long time that would never willingly do this to her clients, was ripped away from dozens of clients without a word allowed, ripped from people who loved her and who she cared for deeply. Just, done. No mercy or allowance to notify patients. And the third time is it for me. This is NO way to run a practice when therapists see dozens of clients weekly and many of the kids/teens/adults already have anxiety or attachment issues. I tried to give the practice the benefit of the doubt when they let our first therapist go 4 weeks after assigning us to her, but this has become a pattern very obviously driven by the need to have the last word and full control, not by what’s in the best interest of the kids. I will not be gambling on allowing my kids to be reassigned to someone new and this unethical pattern of the mistreatment of therapists and clients continuing. Children do not understand why someone leaves and isn’t allowed even a goodbye from the friend they’ve finally opened up to over the past year plus. They just know someone left them. It’s so damaging done once, but over and over again is incredibly unethical and showcases the priorities of who’s running this practice. To not care that so many people will be hurt and damaged from this move is honestly beyond my comprehension. This is an issue we’ve seen escalate the past 1-2 years. I am so sad to leave, even more sad for my kids who have to get this news three times in under 3 years from this practice. If you want ethical care that is truly patient focused from the top down, look elsewhere. It’s such a shame when they have employed such great providers. I hope for other kid’s sake, this stops. They don’t deserve it.”

“We have had the most wonderful experience at Pathways. From the minute I called and spoke with Gina I knew my daughter was in great hands. We were placed with Brendan who has been a compassionate ally. It's not just care but a collaboration with check ins and and open communication. The facility is beautiful and the clear policies are helpful as a guide. Our family is so greatful for our care with Brendan. My daughter was so unsure of male providers everywhere else but I am pretty sure he has become her most favorite person ever.”

“We've had a wonderful experience working with Jodi! Their warmth, patience, and genuine care have made a world of difference for our child. We've seen incredible growth and confidence, and we're so grateful for the support and guidance they've provided.”

“I found Pathways for Change at least 15 years ago. I believed my child needed some guidance from a trained professional rather than from me, just a dad and a single parent. The service and space Pathways for Change provided was perfect for what we needed. I became a client, as well, as several others who sought the guidance and expertise of this establishment and the qualified people hired to work there. I still occasionally schedule time for myself to come back in and speak with Jodi about life issues and how to guide me through the maze of options to assist me in seeing more clearly and take positive steps to resolving the problems or, better yet, learning the tools I needed to handle different situations. She and her staff were very influential and successful at giving my child and others the foundations they needed to be strong, caring, loving, expressive, and passionate individuals now fulfilling their dreams of pursuing college, getting good jobs, being loving spouses, determined and strong contributors to society. I still recommend and send people to Pathways for Change and Jodi whenever someone mentions "needing some emotional support."”
