How likely are you to recommend Parkway Psychiatric?
What patients say on Google
“was a patient of David R Missimo for over 10 years and am extremely disappointed in level of care I received. Appointments were routinely limited to brief 5-minute phone check-ins that felt rushed and superficial, yet were billed at a very high cost. There was little meaningful assessment, no in-depth discussion of mood changes, and no proactive monitoring of symptoms. As a result of this lack of thorough follow-up, I entered a full manic episode that went unrecognized and unmanaged until I required hospitalization. After a decade under his care, I expected closer monitoring, especially given complexity of bipolar spectrum conditions. Mental health care requires careful evaluation, adequate time, and genuine clinical oversight. In my experience, that standard was not met. I would not recommend this provider to patients who need consistent, attentive psychiatric management.”
“Dr. Missimo is a great doctor. The issue I have is that it is nearly impossible to get in contact with the front desk if you are calling in. Additionally, they are VERY strict and quick to enforce the 24-hour cancellation fee which is the full cost of your visit. Contractually, they are right that they can enforce this because you sign a document when you become a patient. I called in and gave notice ~21 hours in advance. The call I received simply stated the time I left the voice message, that they would be charging me a late fee, and that I needed to reschedule if I'd like to receive any scripts. I've never experienced any service company that is so heavy-handed when enforcing this policy. I even asked if there was leniency and I was told that I signed a document stating their late-fee policy. I understand that businesses need to operate efficiently, but customers drive the business. Their dispassionate use of their penalizing policies makes me feel like I am simply a transaction to process, and not a valued client. I have been a long-term client and put up with paying a bit of a premium for what is a widely available service. However, I can no longer recommend this place and will be taking my business to somewhere that values me.”
“I have been a patient of Dr. Missimo's since 2005. I have appreciated his medical knowledge, caring insights, and consistent focus that have helped me change my life. I was afraid to seek help at the beginning, but I am so glad I did! I have referred many friends and family members as well who have come back to thank me.”
“Tired of fighting with the front desk. Scheduling/script handling and customer service is abysmal. If all you need is a Dr. to sign off on your script, and there's no problems, you're good. But as soon as I you need a longer session, or issues with the pharmacy or a prescription, dealing with the front office is a test in patience. They also blamed their unwillingness to help "on the law." After I pointed out that this is not, in fact the law, and the pharmacist I had standing in front of me said the same thing, I was told it was "office policy.". I'm your patient looking to get my medicine, please don't lie to me. Besides, why am I talking to the office staff, and not the doctor? I've been going for over 10 years, but finally tired of dealing with the office. I will be looking for a new place.”
