“It's always best to come twice somewhere before leaving an interview. You get to see the real them..People of all frame of life with different issues. I got cut short and was given the cold shoulder today. I was wrote off and dismissed, reason because I couldn't function inside a shelter. Depression hit people in different ways and not all people want to commit suicide. If I could help myself and actually know what I needed and could treat myself, why come here.”

“waited 3 hours to be seen by the psyche doctor. actually hurt myself in the waiting room and nobody noticed or intervened. and after that many hours of waiting, the white psych doctor was very dismissive and rude when I was telling him about what I was feeling and experiencing. Evaluation was less than 20 minutes. thankfully, the black woman social worker standing next to him while I was being evaluated, took me seriously, and you can tell she sincerely cared about her job. Honestly, I left having less faith in humanity than when I walked in. i've seen other reviews saying they waited even longer towards seven hours before being seen. The torture of it all is you're waiting in a waiting room without your phone, not being able to talk to anybody, just being left alone with your depressed thoughts. dont bring your loved ones here.”

“I was in this Mental Hospital in 2013 and it was my first and one of the most challenging experiences of my entire life! The experience that made it most challenging was during the end of my stay there was when one of the Caucasian Male patients saw me and observed my articulation he was so mad at what he saw and heard that he got my attention and started punching his fist hard as if to say “this is what I’m getting ready to do to you”. I was fearful for my life and called my family and told them that there had to be a way that I could get out of that mental hospital immediately. Thankfully I was able to get out in about 2 days after that experience. No one should ever have to go through anything like that.”

“Brought my uncle for extreme schizophrenic episodes. They released him hours later. Saying to look online for a boarding home. He's wasn't stablized and they DID NOT care. Social With Worker Rachel was disconcertingly about his history and safety.”
