What patients say on Google

“Dr. Rogers is awesome, as for the poor review, almost no Psychiatrist takes insurance, you have to file it yourself, takes minutes, she gives you a superbill and confirmation of payment, and she doesn't have staff. I believe she was in a group practice prior to going solo, I think the reviewer spoke with the old office, not sure what that review is about, ignore it.”

“I’m not one to leave reviews as of late, but I was shocked to see the 3-star review when I looked her up to get her number (no idea why I haven’t saved it before). There’s a review that states they were misled by Dr. Rodgers practice to insinuate they took insurance. They don’t. They never have. It’s stated on the website under FAQs. Dr. Rodgers has been an amazingly kind and understanding doctor who has always been willing to hear how I feel about introducing new meds or making a change to my existing routine. What I find impressive is that she’s always been able to help me make medication or routine adjustments to work around any fluctuating lifestyle changes. This feels like a collaborative partnership as opposed to doctors I’ve had before who barely looked at me and rarely considered how I *felt* about the medications they were prescribing. The doctors in the past had a “I know what’s best” attitude whereas Dr. Rodgers’ goal seems to be to make sure I’m getting what I want out of my treatment. She treats the person, not the disorder, if that makes sense. She responds quickly to requests, and during one negative medication change (in the entire time I’ve been her patient, something like 7 years, I think?) was in touch with me in less than an hour when it was well past office hours. While getting someone on the phone can be trying, I also know that if I send an email or voicemail, she’s quick to send prior authorizations, doctor’s notes, or whatever else I may be needing.”

“Dr.Rodgers is literally the BEST psychiatrist ive ever had, just hearing her voice immediately calms me, I have been with her almost a decade and I appreciate her more than she could ever know, HIGHLY recommend🤍”

“I had to wait almost two months to get into an appointment with Dr. Rogers, which was discouraging as a patient desperately seeking professional insight and relief from mental health issues. My doctor sent over a total of three referrals. After each one, I would call and leave a message, since no one ever answered the phone, to follow up on the referrals. Finally, after the third referral sent, someone from the office finally called me back. The lack of response, call back time, and respect to contact a patient in need should have been a warning sign in itself. Once scheduled, I waited about six weeks for my appointment. Given the medical complexities I have, it was important for me to wait rather than seeking other options for mental health practitioners because I required a provider who accepts insurance, given I have vast medical expenses and cannot afford doctors out of network due to exorbitant medical fees already. Thus, when scheduling, the office scheduler asked if I had insurance and which one. When I stated my insurance, she assured me Dr. Roger’s accepted mine and it would be billed to insurance accordingly. Therefore, I was willing to wait the six weeks for her first available in order to ensure I was seeing a psychiatrist in network. After finally meeting with Dr. Rogers, at the end of our appointment, she briefly left her room and I checked my email, in which is saw a receipt for payment, which was $350, in which my co-pay for insurance was not applied. After the initial shock, I reasoned the office staff simply forgot to bill my insurance and so I inquired about it. Dr. Rogers then stated that she does not accept insurance. I was of course baffled and taken aback by this news and shared that her office scheduler assured me otherwise and that I would have never agreed to or been able to schedule and afford this appointment otherwise. As I became visibly upset and crying, I told her I cannot afford this fee and that I was wrongly misled by her staff. She looked at me, said nothing, and elicited no sympathy, consolation, or sensitivity toward the matter. I left hysterically crying and she still did and said nothing. How can any healthcare professional, a PSYCHIATRIST nonetheless, who interacts with mental health patients suffering from emotional distress and conflicts day in and day out, possibly show no attempt to comfort, console, or make right a circumstance such as this? Not only does it reflect on her character, professionalism, and lack of compassion, but it also reflects on her fraudulent business practices. Her office scheduler acted as an agent of Dr. Brittany Roger’s company and falsely advertised that Palmetto Psychiatry accepts insurance, and accepted me as a patient under false pretenses. I wrote this review in hopes I can spare others of the emotional and financial distress I faced as well as the poor business practice and lack of virtue, dignity, and values Dr. Rogers has. Shame on her for taking advance of someone mentally suffering and not honoring the false claims her scheduler is making on her behalf. I plan on filing a claim with the Better Business Bureau, if you would like to learn more about Palmetto Psychiatry’s mistrustful business practices.”
