What patients say on Google

“I am deeply disappointed with the care and lack of empathy at the OSF Saint Elizabeth Behavioral Health Center. As a new patient navigating ADHD medication after gastric bypass surgery, I needed guidance. Instead, I experienced a severe breakdown in communication regarding my refills. After transitioning from extended-release to immediate-release, there was no clear direction on the refill process for month three. I ran out of my medication and experienced a severe withdrawal crash—including extreme exhaustion, panic, and emotional distress. When I called for help, the nurse dismissed my symptoms, claiming my reaction was "abnormal" because "kids and students stop taking it all the time and are fine."When I was completely honest with my providers about the desperation I felt during this crisis, that honesty was weaponized against me. They contacted my primary care doctor and shamed me, treating me like a drug-seeker rather than a patient suffering from sudden medication cessation. Instead of receiving support and clinical understanding during a medical crisis, I was judged and left without help. I have since canceled my appointment with them and am seeking help from a different facility that actually practices clinical empathy. Very unprofessional and unsafe environment.”

“I just received a letter stating the my ward is no longer able to receive services due to violations of the OFFICE? What in the world? I stayed in contact with them continually In regards to his treatment I begining to think there is no hope for anyone for any type of mental status. The fact that there are some employees that don't know how to have empathy to someone who needs help is very frightening and sad this is why I got to Chicago UI they are better understanding and know what provisions need to be in place to ASSIST anyone who is manic depression mode or psychosis. You don't send them off from ER and say NO to helping there mental illness so they go to PERU hospital to have nursing staff look at you for not understanding staff at this facility does that make sense? I will never step foot or have anyone I love go there MORRIs closet but CHICAGO is better,!”

“Beware of some of the therapist here. They have no idea what they're talking about and they talk about the personal life and their past marriages way too much. I saw a therapist over the summer. She was so unprofessional she kept not listening to me and talking about her personal life and making it seem like it was my situation when it was completely not. Her name was Rhonda and then Rhonda completely I think quit or just stopped being a therapist there I have no idea but it was awful. Like I said she talked about her past life way too much involved yourself in my life way too much and said things that didn't even make any sense of pertaining the situation that I was seeking advice for.”

“They have one of the greatest nurses/receptionist of all time answering calls. Absolutely wonderful person. People don't understand how important it is to have a caring person answering Dr office phones. When you get a mean nurse or receptionist it takes a toll on the entire situation. Absolutely10/10. My psychiatrist is very understanding and helpful. I'm not gonna lie this is a pretty good facility”
