How likely are you to recommend Open Mind Psychotherapy & Wellness Center?
What patients say on Google
“Carolina Baldner is the best therapist I've ever had. I've been seeing her for a couple of months now and she has helped me a lot with everything that I've told her I struggle with since day one. Her journalism degree adds amazing skills on how she formulates questions and helps me get to the root of the problem. I feel seen, heard and supported by her. The dynamic during our sessions is what I've always wanted, I look forward to going to my safe place and seeing her every week.”
“I had an incredible experience working with Carolina. I am someone who has always been hesitant to do therapy, but talking to Carolina really helped me open up in ways I never thought were possible. Carolina is truly awesome and is an amazing communicator. She was extremely empathetic with me in our sessions which gave me confidence to open up more and more. She gave me great tools to practice on my own which have allowed me to open up emotionally and feel much happier. I highly recommend her services to anyone that wants or needs therapy!”
“My experience with Valeria has always been positive, I have always admired her compasión and generosity, her willingness to accommodate and be available to our needs. She is very knowledgeable and experienced and committed to excellence, she has been an asset in our family, a source of support, help and encouragement. I highly recommend her practice for families looking for guidance and support at any trying period or transition in their lives.”
“Carolina Baldner counseled my 11-year old daughter for 2 years on and off. Three weeks ago, during a difficult therapy session, my daughter disengaged from the conversation and decided to stop responding to questions. Carolina diagnosed her with "emotional deregulation," and concluded that the case was out of the scope of what she could treat. She ended the session erratically, telling my child that she could not council her anymore because she was not using the "tools" she was giving her. She did not offer an option for a smooth "transition" to a new therapist, nor did she have any referral to give us after I asked for one. Almost immediately after that day, my daughter went into a spiral of depression, which she had no previous history of. After witnessing her extreme sadness for several weeks, and not knowing where it was coming from, I had to find a psychiatrist to help her. During the first session, and after much probing, my daughter revealed that it had started after her last session with Carolina, where she felt a sense of hopelessness - "I thought that I am so messed up that even a therapist cannot help me," she cried, and "I just gave up." Words cannot describe the pain I felt at that moment, and the regret I feel for having taken her to Carolina for treatment. I dried my daughter's tears and explained to her that it was not her fault. I have not heard again from Carolina after we left her office that day over 3 weeks ago. Not even a text of concern to see how my daughter is doing, or to offer help in finding a new resource. After 2 years of therapy – silence. I tried to set up a call with her via text in order to provide feedback and express my concern, however, she responded by saying that she could not talk and was going off to a session. And after that – more silence. I am extremely disappointed at her behavior, and even more sorry that my daughter suffered the consequences of her lack of judgement and tact. Adding response to Open Mind comments below: If you search your records well, you will, in fact, find that my daughter was your client when she started therapy with Carolina, which is where we found her to begin with. I understand she has since left your practice, but Open Mind is where our treatment with her began. I don't see you requesting anyone else to remove comments about Carolina's services from your website (and there are quite a few) ... why are you asking me to remove mine?”
