“This was a hard rating ..just FYI... you will Get NOOO Info on your loved one the first day!(24hrs) So don't freak out! But the next day start calling first thing in the morning!! And ask away! The day he was first admitted I seriously called 10-13 times never even could get through to the one in Lubbock! Terrible I mean surely they have to have a receptionist right ...even AI- heck! When I finally got through after 24hrs I was able to find out about visiting hours! But seriously why can't any of this be put on the website!! Their website is not clear on anything and should be updated. Isn't that what it's for so you don't have loved ones calling all the time! Just put all the rules and info on the WEBSITE! Even about visitation! And it's only 1hr if 2 people come you have to split the hour!! Can't bring them food, drinks, or snacks. You can bring them a pair of clean clothes as long as no strings on them! They can't use cell phones but they can call out anytime they want it seems...And you must know their code which is the last 4 digits on their wristband!! They do have some lockers for visitors to keep their stuff in while they visit! The staff does seem nice but I don't think keeping patients on constant medication is helping even my friend I came to see he said he gets kolopin 2mg 3x a day Wow ...outside these walls he is prescribed 1-2mg per day-why the excess. Not only that tomake matters worse when I went to see him the 2nd visit now they were giving him 3-4 meds a day! And I read the fine print on the papers below you can refuse the meds but guess what then you will stay longer!! And why do they do this To make them sleep?? And they have 2-3 group sessions a day which you must attend if you want to get out in 5-10 days, apparently 5 days is the minimum. But there is no one on one type of counseling which is what some of these people need! Not just group therapy and meds! Especially if someone is suicidal. You will pretty much have to LIE to be able to get out of these places. And unfortunately this isnt the first one my friend has been in but he said they are all like this. Very sad! Finding the root of some of these issues would be more beneficial than medication that numbs them and keeps them sleepy which is why a lot of people turn to street drugs that do the same thing. If all mental institutions operate this way no wonder we are in the crisis we are in here in America. I tried emailing them --dont waste your time its been 5 days no response there either! One last thing interestingly enough they are allowed to have cigarettes and vapes must be brand new in packaging. Hopes this help bc the workers wont give youio much info on the phone. In person while I was there visiting they did seem like very nice staff-which is a plus!”
“No sense of urgency or care during a mental health crisis. Does not uphold their supposed company values. Pathetic patient follow up treatment after discharge. When they dropped the ball on getting a prescription filled for a patient over 24 hours after their discharge, apparently it got handled within the last 53 minutes before the pharmacy closed for the day, 28 hours after discharge. After multiple phones calls, the last one being me personally to advocate for my friend and stress the importance. But not within a reasonable amount of time to actually get the necessary medication to the patient. Yet when calling them back to re-admit for the subsequent crisis caused by their own negligence, my friend was told that they were “not sick enough” for emergency admission. What a joke. What an absolute joke. Told to wait until the next day and take the medication first, and then if they’re still not feeling better, that they could come in to get admitted. Sorry. Discharge at 3:30pm on Friday until Sunday at 10am when the pharmacy will open back up. FOURTY TWO HOURS LATER is the soonest they’ll be able to pick up medication due to the prescription literally just never being sent off. Also with the last dose being taken THURSDAY NIGHT. Do better. Just do better. This is pathetic. I really don’t enjoy watching a friend go through this much bullshit due to medical negligence.”
“I just wanna say thank you to everybody. Everybody’s at Oceans.. They are wonderful and caring people that listen. The first program was where I had to go five days a week and it was very hard on me at first, but I’m glad I went. Then I went to the other one where I went three days a week Both these Therapist helped me so much. Everybody there was nice and understanding and friendly and caring. If you have a problem, any other stuff would help you. I had to have rides to the facility and the bus driver there he cares when he asked how you doing he means it he made me feel comfortable from day one. I have since graduated and all I can say is if anybody has ever have any problems go to Oceans because they will help you to get towards you need to be. So thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything”
