How likely are you to recommend Oakdale Recovery Center?
“Came to Oakdale for their detox program. I have private insurance so that was all I could get covered, even though I would never want to do their residential program anyway. I'm currently looking elsewhere. I'll start with the intake process. It seemed pretty straight forward but it felt like they were running in circles trying to get paperwork signed and computer documents made. That part didn't bother me much, but they just seemed lazy to me. Like you were just another number. What DID bother me was them going through my things. I've been through this many times in my life unfortunately, so I'm well aware of what to bring and what not to bring. Half of my things were put in "storage" and it made me feel like I wasted my time packing for a long stay. I should have left most of my things at home. It would have been easier and I would still have the things they stole from me. They took my Klein utility knife I use for work every day and didn't give it back when I asked to leave. They took my two brand new Bic lighters, claiming it was contraband and that I would get them back upon discharge. I had to ASK for a lighter when leaving and all I got was a $.99 crack lighter. They FOR SURE owe me two $3 Bic lighters and a $12 Klein utility knife. Upon discharge, they told me they literally threw them away. They are total liars. That is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. They are legit thieves . I'm sure someone on staff is using my lighters right now as I type this up. What bothered me the most was that NO ONE could remember anything about me in particular: my name, my medication, if I smoked or not for smoke breaks, my insurance information, etc. I had to remind them multiple times. Staff should know their clients. I repeated the same answers to the same questions to different staff members multiple times. I don't understand why things aren't written up once and they can look back for reference. They don't bother waking you up for your medication that you're entitled to and that your insurance pays for. I missed med pass multiple times because I was sleeping, not feeling well at all. No one woke me up to get what I needed to feel even a little bit better during that process. I was very upset the entire time I was there. They did not make anything seem positive. It made me feel a thousand times more depressed. The staff were always disorganized. Half of them didn't even know the other half. Most of the time one tech was on the floor, making things take a hundred times longer. They are not the sharpest tools in the shed. It was inconvenient and annoying. I made the decision to leave a day early because I was literally sick of it and there was no way I was going to spend three weeks stuck in one giant room with forty-five other people. That's ridiculous and claustrophobic. I don't understand why anyone would learn anything about recovery in a setting like that, where you are trapped. I for sure would not. I hope Oakdale reads this review and gives me my property back that was deliberately taken from me like my orange Klein utility knife I use for work and two brand new Bic lighters. I refuse to buy another because Oakdale can't keep track of people's things upon intake and discharge. I'm close to reporting this facility. Ridiculous program. Go elsewhere. You'll dodge a very big bullet.”
“I had a really good time here, learned a lot of good coping skills. Most of the staff is amazing (shoutout Lisa, Mike and Dewanda 🫶), highly recommend this place. 😊 food is good too.”
“Clean and maintained facility with a staff of highly trained professionals that care about the clients there. I was a client here and the staff understood behavioral/substance use disorders and are compassionate towards the members. The daily meals provided were balanced and the daily schedule/activity promoted positive benefits attributed towards recovery. Don’t judge a book by its cover. I would highly recommend this facility for anyone seeking withdrawal management or residential treatment!! Huge shoutout to Wanda, Lisa & Alexis for making my stay worthwhile with their testimonials & sense of humor.”
“Well I'm not proud to say that I've been to a few other recovery centers I really did not mind Oakdale. I thought the food was mostly good I enjoyed the staff and they really helped me get my life together. People have to make the most out of their recovery it's not up to the staff or the cooks or anyone to give you a comfortable life you have to realize your own issues and get through them. And for anyone who complains about the food it's much better than any other place I've been.”
