What patients say on Google
“This group took over from my old psychiatrist when he retired. First of all, nobody answers the phone when you call the posted office number. You get a voicemail system telling you to leave a message or email them, allowing them to get back to you at their leisure. I filled out their new patient packet and they accepted me as a patient. I missed my initial appointment due to illness, and because I was pretty sick, calling and canceling/rescheduling my appointment was the furthest thing from my mind. Before I could call and attempt to reschedule, I got an email from them the very next day stating that they would no longer be willing to see me, even though absolutely nothing had changed with my condition. Trying to remedy this situation ultimately resulted in them sending me an email asking me not to contact them further about this issue. They talk about maintaining “clear standards“ concerning their patients. It was NEVER explicitly stated that my acceptance as a patient would be revoked simply for missing one appointment. They also cite the Texas Medical Board when it comes to maintaining these “clear standards“ for their patients. After researching this and speaking to a physician colleague of mine who is an actual member of an advisory board at the Texas Medical Board (and after practicing medicine for 22 years myself), there is nothing in the TMB guidelines that state that it is prudent or proper to revoke the acceptance of a patient simply for missing one appointment for good cause. Some physician practices charge a no-show fee, which I would’ve been more than happy to pay. They stated in their email to me that they “understand things occur“, but that did not change the outcome, so it would appear that this is a false statement. Even though they profess otherwise, it does not appear that they are focused on each patient “finding the treatment solution that works for them“. Ultimately, if this is the way they operate, I will find another doctor, and I strongly suggest everybody else do the same.”
“I found the staff to be caring, hard working and looking out for my best interest. I plan to return as the need arises.”
