What patients say on Google

“DO NOT USE THIS CLINIC. I was referred here from my PCP to facilitate Spravato treatment as a hopeful answer to my med resistant depression. The first clue that something was off was the office manager/receptionist's attitude. She was often rude and condescending for no reason other than her own insecurities. My PCP spent months trying to get an answer. When I finally called over and over eventually getting someone, she lied saying that she had attempted to call me multiple times. Really??? Nothing on my call log. I set up an intake and the dr put me on two meds without asking me any questions. Ok. I really wanted help, so I figured it couldn't hurt. After all of my refills came and went, it came time for the pre-auth from the dr to renew them. First my sleep med came up and I called multiple times as the pharmacy said they had sent the fax weeks before. She lied multiple times about not getting it until finally, after days of being out of my med , got it renewed. At this time the second med came up for renewal and I mentioned it while working on the sleep med. She dismissed me with zero concern for me withdrawing from the meds they put me on. Again, the pharmacy had faxed them for pre-auth and it was ignored. Again, she lied multiple times about not getting it. Again, after days of being off the med they put me on, I called and got more attitude for trying to stay on my antidepressant that they put me on. Now the policy changed and she said they can't renew them bc I don't have an appointment with their clinic. The entire few weeks I'm getting lied to about the pre-auth, this policy was NEVER mentioned. So she's lying again and they refused to authorize the med they put me on. I will find a better clinic with employees who don't lie and care about their client's mental health. You should too!”

“After two appointments, there was a miscommunication regarding the medication I was taking. A last-minute video consult was scheduled to discuss this, where Dr. Newton began the call from a heightened state (and that's putting it kindly) because his receptionist/nurse told him I said he "doesn't listen to me." Not only was that not what I said (I stated I didn't understand why there was a change in my dosage when he and I had not discussed that at my last visit), and not only was it not her place to relay something like that to him even if I HAD said it, but his reaction was way out of line for such a small issue. It is my full belief that neither him nor his nurse should be working with patients who are in a mentally compromised state under the treatment of Spravato/Esketamine. If you are considering starting this treatment with him, I heavily urge you to contact your insurance and see if there are other providers in-network or if they would be willing to do a non-participating agreement with another provider. As a side note, it is ironic for one of the review responses to include "We [...] do not tolerate disparagement of [...] clients" when Dr. Newton himself spent a lot of time speaking unkindly about his past clients at my last in-person appointment.”

“I have been seeing Dr. Newton for years and love him. However, the receptionist is very rude everytime I call or go in. She barely treats you like a person. It is almost worth finding a new Doctor.”
Jackie Steger
“I have been seeing Dr. Newton for several months and am very happy with the service I am receiving. He is kind and attentive and very personable. I would definitely recommend his practice.”
