On top of that my psych doctor doesn't push new treatments. He cares about your needs and wants to know what you think. Out of everywhere I have been this place is hands down the best.”

“The Face to Face PHP program is the best. All of the clinicians were affirming of my trans identity and sensitive to my needs. The lunch that is provided is really good and helpful when working on mental health. If I need to do PHP again, I won’t hesitate to go back to New Oakland Okemos.”

“I loved this place, everyone here has been so nice and its healed me so much. Literally the most influential therapy setting I've EVER been in. The environment is low pressure but helps you dive deeper into how they can regulate. Katie, Jay, Hillary, and Oliver. All amazing genuine people. I gives people a real way to get back into normal life feeling more empowered and safe to share and themselves. This place I've seen even seen from other patients they grow and start looking at the possitive so much more. Katie has been an amazing help in the adult group. “I want to be clear that I have had 5-star experiences here in the past, but there is only so much that the individuals on the ground can do. If you never have an issue that requires getting someone higher-up involved, this place is fine. I had to submit additional paperwork for an issue, but during that time, my treatment stopped completely. Ok, it’s health care, there are protocols. I’ll accept that. But after submitting what they asked for, I’d call to make an appointment, I’d end up in someone’s voicemail, and I wouldn’t get a call back for 2 days. Miss that call? Add more time. Back and forth. They basically needed to “check off a box” in my file, from what I was told, for me to be able to get an appointment with the people on the ground who actually care. But when I submitted what they asked for, apparently nobody at that level of the organization ever checked that box? So every time I’d try to call to get an appointment with my therapist or my psychiatrist to be able to get my meds (you know the ones we aren’t supposed to quit cold turkey for really good reasons?) I got voicemail every time. And it doesn’t matter how great the people that you see are, if nobody lets you make an appointment to see them. I still want to highlight how amazing some people there were - all the faces were friendly and my therapist actually called to check in on me, even though I still wasn’t cleared to make appointments yet. But let that sink in… I was waiting 1-2 business days to get a call back from someone higher up who could authorize my return to therapy, while *my* individual therapist took time out of their schedule to call and see how I was holding up. That’s just messed up. I hope all my favorite people there find a better place to work. 🩷”
