What patients say on Google

“I would strongly encourage your team to approach every patient and family as if they are new to your facility. There needs to be clearer guidance from the very beginning, including ensuring families leave with all necessary documents and a clear understanding of what to expect in the coming days. As a parent, it was extremely difficult to leave my 16-year-old daughter in your care for full days with little to no communication about what was happening, what progress was being made, or what the next steps would be. The experience felt as though she was being treated as a fully independent adult, while the financial responsibility and emotional impact remained on me as the parent. For example, I was not able to receive drug test results despite being her parent and the one responsible for payment. The number of intake processes was excessive and redundant. More importantly, the communication throughout the program was very poor. After a difficult family therapy session, I was told I would receive a follow-up call. While a voicemail was left, I returned the call within 15 minutes and left a message. I did not receive a response until nearly a week later, after multiple additional attempts on my end. In the meantime, my daughter was discharged the very next day with no direct communication to me. Instead, she was sent home with a folder. This is unacceptable for a minor. Discharge planning should involve direct parent communication, not reliance on a 16-year-old to relay important information. Additionally, it took approximately half of the 10-day program to begin medication, despite my daughter agreeing to it on day two. This delay is concerning and raises questions about efficiency and care coordination. After discharge, I had to wait until scheduling follow-up appointments to finally express my concerns, which led to a supervisor returning my call. While I was told documentation showed outreach attempts, there was no acknowledgment of the multiple voicemails I left. This reflects a one-sided and incomplete communication record. Given the $3,600 cost of this program, I expected a significantly higher level of organization, communication, and continuity of care. Finally, one of the most disappointing aspects is that the therapist my daughter built trust with over those 10 days will not continue working with her. She is now being asked to start over with a third therapist in less than a month, not by choice, which disrupts her progress and trust in the process. Overall, while I appreciate the intent of the program, the lack of communication, coordination, and continuity made this an extremely frustrating experience for our family. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and used to improve the experience for future patients and their families.”

“Our experience with New Oakland Family Centers has been truly positive, and a huge part of that is because of Omaira. She has been an incredible therapist for our family—kind, patient, and deeply attentive. Omaira creates a safe and welcoming space where everyone feels heard and supported, and she approaches her work with genuine care and professionalism. Her guidance has made a meaningful difference for us, and we are so grateful for the impact she’s had on our family’s growth and healing. We highly recommend New Oakland Family Centers, and especially Omaira, to any family seeking compassionate and effective support.”

“This clinic continues to provide Adderall to a severely addicted patient in spite of the fact that she takes a 30 day supply in 7 days and manipulates the system so she doesn’t have to do a urine test in a timely fashion. The patient is so severely addicted she is completely nonfunctioning and has jeopardized the welfare of her 3 minor children, and has a CPS case along with DV charges. The medical professionals refused to accept the police reports and documentation about this girl‘s behavior and the abusive care of her children. They are mandatory reporters yet they refuse to report… They have been officially notified on 2 separate occasions yet they refuse to accept supporting documents to validate all I mention herein! What are they hiding? THEY’RE NOT ONLY JEOPARDIZING THE HEALTH AND WELFARE OF THE PATIENT BUT OF HER THREE MINOR CHILDREN AS WELL!”

“My son has had a very positive experience writing our meetings with his therapist Dennis. Also, the medical management staff member we saw was highly qualified and personable as well. I was nervous about seeking help, but I have seen positive changes and feel that this office truly cares about helping us.”
