What patients say on Google

“The Dr's and staff at New Oakland Family Centers Clinton twp. Office are wonderful! Such a caring considerate and genuine and they make my granddaughter and myself feel so welcome and at ease. They are great listening and talking thru plans for the best outcome. They answer all our questions thoroughly. I would recommend them to anyone.”

“My son has autism needs services and the case manager absolutely sucks. Ive spoken to her one time and she declared my son doesnt need services even though hes been diagnosed through his previous school and cmh. Hoping this is just that case worker and not the whole place that sucks. I feel as if they dont care about their clients at all and just want a check from the state.”
Dakota Coldicott
“When I was paying out of pocket, I was charged the full amount for a required urine test—the same amount New Oakland said it would bill an insurance plan. Staff explained that when a patient has insurance, they bill the plan and accept whatever amount the insurer pays, without charging the patient the remaining difference. However, because I was self-paying, I was expected to pay the entire billed amount. In effect, I was being charged more simply because I did not have insurance coverage. After escalating the issue to the financial director, I was told they would waive the cost of the required urine test—but only once. That response made it clear this was not simply a billing oversight. My insurance plan had also been dropped without my knowledge, resulting in unexpected charges. Based on my experience, patients should carefully verify their coverage and expected costs before every appointment. The billing practices felt unfair, opaque, and predatory.”

“My 20-year-old grandson with a mood disorder recently got out of the Psych ward and wanted to continue group therapy so he enrolled at New Oakland. They put him in a group with old people focused on grief and kicked him out after two days because the old people thought he was "scary." They cared NOTHING about helping my grandson. If anything, they only made him feel worse. A horrible place to send your mentally ill children! Don't do it.”
