“My caseworker was wonderful....But I have now transferred out of their jurisdiction and they are basically denying me my own records. Not verbally but I have signed all release forms and everything to where I have transferred and still have yet to receive the records I need to continue my mental health services. I've requested copies be sent to my home and still in yet no records. I'm to the point of reporting them to the department of mental health!”

“One of the worst. Let me give you the run down on my friends and families opinions of it: We have a family member enrolled in their program, and she has received some of the worst care here. Due to New Horizon's treatment she has been overloaded and left in a vegetative state--mouth hanging open ghoul and a shell of her former self-- until recent family intervention. The staff there are incredibly incompetent and they must get them at bargain basement prices due to their inability to do their jobs. I would be surprised if anyone there including their "trained psychiatrist" is paid more than minimum wage. Our aunt had her care transferred from Pathways-another--better facility--because she wanted a change and see what NH had to offer. She was taken in and never given a new diagnosis from their staff. Instead she was immediately over prescribed drugs which side affects far outweighed any benefits by a Dr. Mary Dick--look at other reviews on other websites about Dr. Dick and it will give you an idea of how bad she is. Her name is truly Dr. Dick--I'm not making that up. Without any personal advocates looking into my aunt's care, she totally deteriorated where whatever symptoms she had originally, were exacerbated. The other members of staff including a caseworker who was assigned to her--who never did anything to check in on or have the guts to tell a drug happy doctor the client was deteriorating, completely dropped the ball. Now that family members have stepped in, my aunt is a whole new person, again the happy joyful vibrant person she ever was. To complete this horrible experience, after waiting months and months on my aunt's medical records we have been ignored. We ARE STILL WAITING. I am not sure why they will not release them, except perhaps to prevent future litigation due to the criminally negligent way they have treated a client. Please don't send anyone you care of to this facility.”

“I personally never been there but my daughter has. She is mentally unstable and needs to put into a group home. They should take her out of her dad's care and into a safer environment. They are there just to get a paycheck only. But I have this bad feeling that if they do decide to do their job my daughter will suffer with same abuse that she gets from her dad. Mental illness is nothing to laugh at but this place and others like them thinks they are scum of the Earth.”

“Not many alternatives. For some individuals, this is it. I mainly rate it 'cuz some folks have to come here for holiday functions. Many rumors about ownership, racism, but hey, this is redneck Missouri central-capital. Below review references Dr Mary Dick. She is given high reviews in Jefferson city. I've had personal interactions (also with family members) & find her competent. Other than that, I agree with about any other low review....”
