What patients say on Google
“I was here for 12 days on unit 300.. The only reason this is higher than a 1 star is because of some of the staff. There were nurses and BHAs that really did care and others were not worth the paper their checks are printed on. Among the caring I found 3 awesome nurses Sandra, Theresa, and Rhianna, they were all exceptional and really listened if you had a concern or need. They are there for the patients.i found a few BHAs that showed compassion and patience as well: Sara, Taphany, Kiki, AJ,, and K Lynn, just to name a few.also i was hit by another patient with nothing being done, which increased my anxiety while there.at night some BHAs would talk and laugh so loudly you couldn't sleep. There were no one on one sit down conversions with doctors or therapist. You saw them once a day for maybe 10-15 min. The favorite questions, are you having thoughts of harming yourself or others? There was no attempt to figure out or truly talk about why/how you ended up there. With some of the BHAs, if they didn't like you or you annoyed them they would totally ignore you. Some of them talked mean and talked down to you like you are beneath them. IT is a mental hospital, everyone has problems but it seemed like they just wanted to keep you there like a prisoner, give you psych meds, but not talk about the reason that got you there in the first place. This place does not provide hospital clothes( gown, pants).they rely on donation clothing, which sometimes is hard to come by.i feel sorry for some of the patients there and will continue to pray for them. And hope/pray i dont ever have to go back.”
“I stayed 7 days in this unit. It was absolutely traumatizing. The food was horrendous, it was like actual prison food. We were yelled at for asking to drink water or asking for our toothbrushes and our hygiene boxes. We were yelled at for trying to get the attention of staff for simply asking for CRAYONS. We weren’t allowed to do anything besides color or read books, mind you, we were even yelled at when we would ask for a printed page to color on. There were no coloring books. Group time was a complete joke and SOULY BASED on religion, nothing else. I was discharged with medication that nearly killed me and dropped my blood pressure down to 53 over 70. *DANGEROUS* The doctors support was non existent. It was really disappointing how bad this hospital was to its patients, truly sad. To give you some insight, I was in with this women who wore ripped pants for nearly 3 days because no one would even spend the time to get her normal ones or even paper ones that fit her. (She was a bigger woman.) The staff was incredibly rude and disrespectful, they would roll their eyes for the most simple human requests. It really seemed like to me, that the staff that was there could have cared less to help the people that entrusted this hospital to give them the treatment they deserved. This place should be closed down and no longer allowed to be legally open to “help” people seeking REAL HELP with mental health issues.”
“I can count on 1 hand the few people that were very compassionate, kind, & helpful. Everyone else just sat around on their phones ignoring us and not paying attention. The 1st few days there I received non of my psych meds and went thru withdrawals & then all of the sudden they started me on 2 new meds at higher doses without starting off slowly. Dr. Suda was an absolute dream of a wonderful person. The food was not good at all. The tv remote was lost & then found but they had no batteries and I had to subtract myself to a lot of news that triggered me tremendously! They also refused to give me my clothes & toiletries my son brought for me to use.”
“IF I COULD GIVE IT 0 I would!! This place needs shut down! My father was put on a 48 hr hold for drinking and they are trying to keep him as we speak!!! It’s been 5 days!!! Cynthia P is the MOST UNPROFESSIONAL “social services” worker I’ve EVER had to talk to, she literally HUNG UP when my mother and I were trying to get information after NO CONTACT. My dad said he has been in the same clothes for 5 days!!!!! She doesn’t care about people AT ALL. It’s dirty, disgusting, there was a fight and the blood was CLEANED UP with a staff members SHOE!! He didn’t get a blanket, can’t get water without getting yelled at; he hasn’t had a group meeting or met with any “therapist”. The STATE OF INDIANA SERIOUSLY NEEDS TO SHUT THIS PLACE DOWN!!!!!! IF YOU HAVE FAMILY HERE, GET THEM OUT ASAP!!!”
