“I had a pretty bad experience here. I'm not sure of the motivation behind it but I didn't realize until I looked it up that the only person I met with was a Physicians Assistant. I never had the opportunity to meet with the MD or the clinical neuropsychologist. She actively tried to talk me out of everything that might have made this whole experience better. I have gone my entire life self-managing my ADD/Anxiety but it was getting to a point where I could not ignore it anymore. I liked one medicine but it made me sick. I asked about a med I had found to help with the nausea and she talked me out of it and switched me to something else instead. I asked about a blood test to help me figure out what would work for me and she talked me out of that. I asked about taking a leave from work to adjust - she talked me out of that. Moral of the story - advocate for yourself and do no trust these people. They are not looking out for your best interests. Not sure if the motivation was the fact that she (Stephanie) was helping another local healthcare provider who has some sort of influence in the area harm me on purpose, maybe my employer was involved, it was racially motivated or she was just inexperienced. Either way, coming here did more harm than good for me personally. The front desk is also fairly short and cold. That should have been my first red flag.”
“I am currently in the process of finding a new doctor. Trying to get in touch with anyone causes so much stress. No one answers the phone. It is always straight to voicemail and then *maybe* you get a call back. If you miss the call back you have to restart the process. They have an online portal but it is impossible to connect to and is always down. I have tried to pay a bill but can’t because I can’t get into the portal and no one answers the phone. I finally had to send my husband in person to pay it. My previous doctor left the practice, which I found out when I tried to schedule a follow up. At my appointment with the new doctor she wanted to try a different medication than the one I knew that worked. I had already trialed different meds with my previous doctor so not sure why we didn’t stick with what worked. It took two appointments and her “consulting” with another doctor to get my previous med. ADHD is really hard with small children and being postpartum. With the new doctor my symptoms and struggles were dismissed as just being a mom. This is not my first child I know from experience and working with the previous doctor how bad my ADHD is (borderline severe according to the test) and how it effects my everyday life. If you need to be able to reach your doctor or want to be heard and not brushed off please find somewhere else for ADHD medication management.”
“I have been using NC Neuro for my child for over 5 years. I have recommended to countless people. HOWEVER, over the past 6 months nearly all their providers and even office staff have left. No one answers the phones and takes days to weeks to get returned calls, if you get one. This place is NOT what it was. The new PA we were assigned to also requires every other visit be in person, which is over an hour from my childs school, so virtual appointments worked better for us with 1 annual in office visit.”
“The provider is great, but unfortunately she is leaving and I was not notified. This practice has provided the worst experience possible regarding their management of scheduling, setting expectations and responsiveness. I have been extremely patient with them but the lack of professionalism is appalling. They are supposed to support mental health, instead they add to your stress levels. At the first appointment I was handed a stack of paperwork to fill out for my child. This should have been sent to me in the mail or given to me on an iPad. Super unproductive and delayed the start of the appointment that was scheduled for 3-4 hours. No time expectations were set ahead of time which is further infuriating. I never receive email notifications, come to find out, they had my email wrong in the system the entire time. Even after having corrected my email I still do not receive correspondence. The appointment reminder card they gave me has the phone number for the Raleigh location on it….WHO KNEW?? I left a message for them and like many others, my call was not returned for 48 hours. I told the incompetent office attendant on the phone yesterday that after all of these mishaps I am done with them. I called to confirm and appointment to find out an appointment I thought was cancelled was not cancelled, and that’s just the short of it. These people are incompetent and do not actively listen AT ALL. They do not want your business they want your money. As mad as I was yesterday on the phone, ask me if a supervisor has called to recover my business. NOPE. Skip this place and go somewhere else. Do not waste your time.”
