What patients say on Google

“I just received a letter from MSRivington to inform me that I will not be seen as a patient, even though I am a former patient for years. The reason they stated was that I missed a few appointments. I contacted MSRivington and spoke to a clerk and explained that I was having surgical procedures. And also did a follow up on MyChart. Which evidently no one reads. Then on FRIDAY, March 27th I rec'd the letter. Withdrawing me from the program. Well I had a stent surgery on Thursday the 26th at MS Morningside which my cardiologist said was definitely needed. It's a shame that the MS Rivington location for being such a fairly new facility treats it's former patients like this. Especially a patient who always tries to get through for an. Appointment when the phone is never answered. And also to be dropped because I needed stent surgery and couldn't make an appointment is ridiculous. DO BETTER, then you wonder why people leave negative comments. P.S. also the two sheets of useless psychology programs were addressed to the wrong patient. How can you put the correct address on the envelope but the incorrect name on the info sheets. 🤔”

“I was here involuntarily. I had not even attempted suicide, still got sent here. I pleaded not to send me there though. While spending more than a week on the 3rd floor, I realized two things, one is you can't get out from this Inpatient unit by acting normal. You will be there till your doctors decide. Second, it is a mistake to be 100% honest at the intake appointment. I would say the inpatient unit was better than the last hospital I was at. My stay was neither pleasant nor unpleasant entirely. Most of the staff was fine. But I never wanted to go there because it's hard to navigate life once you're out. Much harder. I have been on medication they put me on for months now but I don't know what to do with it. I don't have a psych anymore. I haven't had in months. I tried to schedule with one but that's in late May. Earlier it was just depression and suicidal aspect that I had going on, but now I have these physical symptoms that I just can't take. I went to PCP, who ran some tests but because everything looked fine, he said if it's too serious, I should go to the ER. But I'm never going to ER ever again. I have had enough of it. I have been there for all kinds of things. So it's out of question. It's been months of medication. Never saw any benefits. Infact, now I feel nauseous, sleepless. I feel choked and suffocated. Just like not every medicine works for everyone, hospitalization doesn't work for everyone. It may help people who just started feeling bad or hopeless or depressed but not people like me, who've had a history of all of it. I hope you'll consider this. Please do not send anyone to hospital if they have a history of attempts or hospitalizations and they are unwilling to go. Because even if they are sent in, chances are they'll do it again what they were sent in for. Everyone who was at the hospital at the same time as me for suicide attempts or chronic thoughts, I'm 99% positive they'll do it again. Hospitalization doesn't really change the quality of life, it just cuts you off from reality while you are there. I'm just trying to hang in there till May 18th and then I don't have anything going on. I just had to let this all out. And again, please don't send anyone to hospital if they are unwilling to go there...”

“I had a bad initial review of Mount Sinai behavioral health but because my Psychiatrist is very caring and has great bedside manner I will update my review and give them 5 stars they did make things right once I got my insurance fixed. I will say this the system with health insurance in the mix really makes getting help for mental health very difficult. I’m glad I was able to get things fixed and have a great caring psychiatric provider. So because of my good experience this month I have changed my review to be positive. The location is very clean and staff on the second floor is very friendly and helped me get a primary care doctor at this location so thank you to the team on the second floor.”

“Disgusting absolutely disgusting. Security was disgusting, front desk people were disgusting. They let someone go who was a danger to themselves, I wonder how many people they let slip through the cracks. They way they are though, they really don’t seem to care, which I have empathy for them because I know psych isn’t an easy field to work in. And YOU KNOW IT’S BAD when a fellow social worker is advocating and SPEAKING OUT AGAINST THEIR OWN PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you have a genuine desire to get help for yourself and you don’t have substance use issues, please do not come here. Try to wing it with telehealth therapy and use AI to help you with your symptoms. This place is literally dangerous.”
