“I located Moonlight by google to obtain therapy services for my 21 year old daughter. At the time my husband, me, nor my daughter knew her diagnosis of schizophrenia. My husband and I asked for a family group therapy session because we knew our daughter was going through something but didn’t know exactly what it was because she just had came home for the summer of 2024 from school. We were turned down from our daughter therapist stating that would be her decision. Later after receiving proper care from a psychiatrist and therapist our daughter was diagnosed with schizophrenia. Her new therapist who knows the symptoms of schizophrenia recommended our daughter to do a family therapy session and we learned from our daughter that the therapist at Moonlight stated to her that we(parents) were controlling. We are devastated after the loss of our daughter in 2025.. controlling and concerned(active) parents are two total different things.”
