What patients say on Google

“I came to Montes after losing my daughter from a tragic situation. I then had to put my sister on hospice care and she passed away. I had 2 major losses within a year. I was seeing Kendall Justice and liked her. My problem started when I cancelled a appointment to get the Sprivato nasal spray for depression. It's a new treatment that requires their supervision in the office because of side effects. It scares me because they can't undo spraying a product into your head. When I cancelled the appointment they said I was being charged a $50 fee unless I came in to the office. I tried to make a appointment with Kendall Justice and they said I needed to pay up before I could be seen. They care more about the money they can extort from me then finding out how I'm doing. I don't want to talk to them if they don't care about me. They care more about collecting money they never earned than how I'm holding up after a double crisis in my life. I think they are in the wrong business. I'm feeling disappointed and don't think they care about me at all. That alone is insulting and abusive to me both mentally and emotionally. I won't be returning to receive any help that I need and I don't have $50 to just give them. This is just hurtful! I'm grieving so hard I can't stop crying. I feel lost and alone. What kind of mental facility would turn you away over the mighty dollar 💵💰 I guess my life is worth $50 to them!! WOW!”

“Buckle up. This is a long review with some background history. To start: I had initial concerns when it took 3 calls before someone answered the phone, to set up my initial intake appts. When I arrived for my initial visit and every appointment since, I've been greeted by Marcy (I think that's her name. I'll be embarrassed if that's not correct). Being in an already vulnerable state of mind, she is gentle and soft spoken with me. We always have a such a nice interaction. (The young man who works at the front desk is also soft spoken and kind) I was initially paired with Kendall and Miguel based on current availability and who's taking new patients. Psychiatry: Kendall and I get along great, but we have been feeling a bit frustrated trying to find an effective medication for my bi-polar depression. Finding something that my body metabolizes and is effective, has proven to take extra time. I've had concerning side effects on many meds throughout the years, including what we've tried thus far. I do have confidence we will find an effective medication, without concerning side effects. I have a history of malabsorption, after a failed gastric bypass surgery and reversal. I then survived a widow maker heart attack at age 33. We may have a better advantage now that I've completed a Gene Sight test. 🤞 Counseling: I started with Miguel, but he announced he would be leaving the Montes group at my third appointment. I went home in tears and feeling defeated that I'd have to begin the process all over again, or travel further for therapy. When I had my next appointment with Kendall, Marcy offered to be paired with Tiniya, as she thought we made a good match (I know I'm spelling names wrong.Sorry!). She Was Right about being a good match! Since we've begun, I've noticed a great change in my day to day life. With her knowledge, I'm gaining inner strength and some emotional maturity that I've been lacking for years. That has led to helping me set healthy boundaries and use new skills to apply outside of our visits. I get nothing but encouragement and helpful advice each time we meet. It's the first time I've felt a real connection with my counselor for many years. I wish I could put her in my pocket and take her everywhere. She deserves a lot of credit for getting me to this place I'm currently navigating. I look forward to our sessions and leave her feeling uplifted. I would currently rate Montes overall a 4 ⭐️ /5 ~~~~~~~~~~ That said, I had a negative background history with previous providers at Montes. It was not a good experience and I cancelled any further visits. I am a recovering addict who takes recovery seriously. I was often shamed for being on a MAT and I was not considered "clean" in her eyes. I left every visit in tears, until I got home one day and my spouse sat me down (after another awful visit with them) and expressed they were noticing a decline while under their treatment. I ended services and found new providers. Fast forward to when I was at a regular check-up with my primary last summer, and I admitted my mood was stuck in the gutter. My mental health provider was on maternity leave and I thought I'd be fine until she returned. I was not okay, turns out. The primary Dr's nurse went above and beyond to get me a list of providers that accept my insurance. I saw Montes was on the list and it was the closest to my home. I told the nurse about my prior experience with Montes, but I would agree to give the Montes facility another try. (as long as it was not with the prior providers in their office) I'm currently very happy with the services and providers. I leave with a smile and not an emotional wreck. I hope this helps you find a great provider at Montes. The second chance has proved to be a success for me, thus far. My family has started remarking about how much I've grown and started coming to me for advice. I must give Tiniya the credit for the skills and patience she's armed me with. (I'm sorry again about the names)”

“I have experienced a concerning sequence of events at Montes Psychiatric Center, and these experiences echo the issues reported by other patients. Initially, my interactions were positive, particularly with Gina, who was a truly outstanding and exceptional provider. However, her relocation was a significant setback. Following her departure, I was assigned to Kendal Justice, and I found her to be both professionally immature and demonstrably lacking in the necessary knowledge and experience expected of someone in her position. For example, the practice of taking a patient's blood pressure immediately upon arrival, without any context or consideration of the individual's situation, is not standard medical practice. In fact, at all other medical facilities I have visited, my blood pressure is consistently within the normal range. Yet, at this clinic, this seemingly arbitrary measurement was used as the primary justification to discontinue my medication, a medication I had been taking for a total of 14 years. Kendal Justice showed a disturbing lack of concern and awareness regarding the potential dangers of abruptly stopping such medication without implementing a gradual and safe weaning process. I strongly advise against seeking any services at this clinic. If you are currently receiving care there, I urge you to seek treatment elsewhere immediately. You deserve to receive appropriate and compassionate care, and you will absolutely find it elsewhere. The level of care I received at Montes Psychiatric Center was unbelievable, and I am frankly astonished that they are allowed to treat patients in such a careless and unprofessional manner. Do not delay; find a different facility as quickly as possible to ensure you get the proper medical attention you deserve.”

“I know it's been said before but I'll say it again, if I could leave less than a star I would definitely do so. I have a lot to share and will probably add to this later but, unfortunately, I doubt that anyone other than the patients will actually even read this. That's how much compassion and care there is in this office. Stay away from it if you have even the slightest choice in the matter. I wish I hadn't wasted my precious time and money on a doctor who doesn't actually care about a single one of his patients. It's sad really because I was fooled for quite some time that he did and I only hope that you too aren't as unfortunate as I am. Oh and as other people have also written, I want to advise others that one should not even consider arriving to ones appointment late, as they have zero respect for individuals who may be running a bit behind. This is a very ironic point that I am adding since they will not hesitate to keep you waiting for extremely inconvenient and excessive amounts of time practically every time you have an appointment. I used to prepare myself that even with telehealth contact, I would probably be waiting for that call to come in. It's very inconsiderate and disconcerting, especially to those already suffering from anxiety disorder.”
