What patients say on Google
“I was a patient here during the first year it opened, immediately after the transition to Dr. Wimbush opening this place as her own practice. I really liked her before the transition, as when I'd communicated my anxieties over trying to get my adhd managed she was clear and communicative about everything and made me feel encouraged about trying it out. Unfortunately, my experience changed when she switched practices. I'm not sure entirely why, but paperwork that I had filled out to have my records transferred over was never processed. Instead of chalking it up to processing error, Dr. Wimbush told me I was making excuses for myself for having neglected to get things done. When I tried to defend myself against this assertion, she very directly told me that excuses were unacceptable. It felt like I was being gaslit into saying I didn't fill out paperwork that I knew I had in fact filled out. Even though I wanted to discontinue services with her at that point, I was also wary of making a rash decision. I ended up attending another appointment where when I tried to tell her my frustrations with my medication, she implied that I was being dishonest with her. I understand that many adhd medications are controlled substances, and I was getting the implication that she thought I was selling medications. This confused me, because I was very clear about telling her that I had leftover medications from days when I had forgotten to take it, so I would postpone picking up new scripts to avoid having a buildup. She continued to tell me I was making excuses and being dishonest, and so I just cancelled future appointments with her. A few months later, I started getting calls from her assistant trying to encourage me to set up another appointment, and I declined multiple times, and then just proceeded to send the calls to voicemail before they petered out. Then a couple months after that, I received a reminder that I had another appointment with her! I called and canceled, and expressed my frustration as I had discontinued medication at the time and they apologized for the mixup, but at that point it felt extremely frustrating after all the baffling accusatory language in my last two appointments.”
“My experience as a first-time patient at this practice was not only disappointing—it was emotionally exhausting and borderline retraumatizing. I came in ready to engage in a collaborative conversation about my mental health, specifically seeking guidance around an ADHD evaluation. Instead, I walked away feeling judged, unheard, and reduced to my past trauma. From the beginning, she frequently spoke over me and gave vague, unhelpful responses to my questions. When I vulnerably shared that I had never reported a past assault, her immediate reaction was a blunt, “How come?”—a deeply insensitive and inappropriate question to ask without any trauma-informed framing or support. Rather than addressing my current concerns, including ADHD symptoms I had come prepared to discuss, she fixated almost exclusively on my trauma history. After nearly two painful hours, I left without even starting the formal ADHD evaluation. Despite my consistent therapy for well over a year, she casually and inaccurately assumed my treatment had been ineffective—based solely on me shutting down while discussing trauma. It wasn’t due to a lack of processing, but because she created an unsafe environment that made it difficult for me to open up. Her tone-deafness and lack of self-awareness were alarming, and this assumption was made without any understanding of my therapeutic progress or goals. The experience left me feeling worse than when I arrived. I didn’t return for the second appointment. Instead, I spoke with my therapist, who validated my concerns and referred me to a new provider—someone who is already proving to be a far better fit, both clinically and personally. Mental health care should feel safe, validating, and collaborative. This appointment felt judgmental, disorganized, and lacking in empathy. I would not recommend this provider to anyone seeking trauma-informed or neurodivergent-aware care.”
“We have always been very happy with Ms. Wimbush. She is professional, thorough and always kind. Travis, the young man who runs the office, is responsive, friendly, and respectful. This practice has always met our expectations and it’s a relief to have one of the many providers that we all have to manage and deal with be so easy and such a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend Ms. Wimbush and Modern Integrative Psychiatry.”
