How likely are you to recommend Mindpath Health Psychiatrists & Therapists - Chapel Hill?
What patients say on Google
“Karen is one of the kindest and most caring people I've ever known. She is also a great therapist. We are slowly working through my issues. She always seems to help, even when I don't realize it at the time.”
“My experience with Mindpath was deeply disappointing and, ultimately, harmful to my mental health journey. I began care in June 2025 with psychiatrist Michael Antoine. I came in fully aware that I needed help and was open to professional guidance. I understood that medication management is a process, and I was committed to doing the work required. However, throughout treatment, I experienced a concerning level of passivity regarding my care. When medications were changed, instructions were often vague. For example, I was told to “keep an eye on” my blood pressure rather than being clearly informed that the medication could significantly elevate it and that I needed to monitor it daily. I had never experienced high blood pressure before. When I casually checked it, my numbers were alarmingly high. I did not understand the severity because it was never properly explained to me. In addition, my difficulty securing a therapist was known. Mr. Antoine highly recommended a therapist within the same practice, and I agreed, believing coordinated care would be beneficial. While the therapist was kind and welcoming, it was not a good clinical fit for the trauma and deeper issues I came to address. I specifically requested weekly therapy. This was not established. I advocated for myself again and was assured it would be addressed, but there was no follow-through. In my final session, it was casually mentioned as I was leaving that “if we need to add someone else to your care team, we can.” Only after I terminated care did the practice suggest alternative providers. There never appeared to be a clear, intentional treatment plan. The follow-up email offering other options felt reactive rather than proactive. If those options were better suited to my needs, they should have been identified from the beginning. I remained in care from June 2025 to January 2026 because I was trying to trust the process — both with medication and with professional recommendations. I was honest, committed, and willing. Unfortunately, I left feeling unseen in the areas that mattered most. There was consistent affirmation of my “strength” and how well I present, but that should not replace proper clinical care. Presentation is not the same as wellness. If you are seeking light support or surface-level processing, Mindpath may be sufficient. If you have trauma or complex issues that require structured, intentional treatment and active management, I would strongly recommend exploring other options.”
“Both my counselor and my psychiatrist are wonderful to work with. They listen to me and are plesentt and respectful . I would refer Mindpath without a Ny hesitation!”
“Karen is a wonderful person. She list to us and guide us during our hard time.”
