How likely are you to recommend Mindful Health?
“My experience at Mindful Health left me feeling worse than when I began treatment. When I sought out treatment, I was only interested in medication management and individual therapy. After my intake assessment, I let Valerie Sullivan coerce me into group therapy; in retrospect this was a mistake. I participated in the IOP program for 2.5 months before I was summarily discharged (after I spent $4000 on treatment). My primary therapist, Sarah Gonzalez, seemed so kind and caring at first, but she turned out to be an under-experienced novice. I was honest with my therapy team about my depression symptoms - too honest as it would turn out. As much as I overthink things, I never imagined that I would be immediately discharged from therapy for refusing in-patient treatment. Three months later, I am still devastated that I was discharged from Mindful Health with no referrals and no follow-up from Sarah Gonzalez. My psychiatrist, Adrienne Estabillo, was no better - I found him to be cold and emotionless. I found no support or resolution for my most serious symptoms. If anything, group therapy (IOP) made me feel worse overall. I do not understand why Valerie Sullivan forced me into group therapy; I should have been permitted to start individual therapy at the beginning of my treatment. Now I have lost all faith in counseling, and I do not see how I could ever trust a therapist again. Sarah Gonzalez, Valerie Sullivan, and the Mindful Health team failed me completely. If anything, they just worsened my distrust for the medical community, especially social workers. If you’re struggling with severe depression, PTSD, BPD… avoid Mindful Health. They’re not interested in helping patients with serious mental health symptoms. (P.S. Many of the therapists at mindful health are new and not fully licensed - yet they charge exorbitant prices).”
“Mindful Health has been a huge help to me on my journey toward mental well-being. Sherry, Blake, and Alex are incredible, and thanks to them, I feel so much better. The entire front desk staff is extremely kind and welcoming; you can tell they are passionate about what they do.”
“Disheartening Experience with Samantha and the Lack of Support from Mindful Health I initially had a positive experience with Samantha, who was attentive, knowledgeable, and made me feel comfortable during our sessions. I felt that therapy was progressing well, and I looked forward to our future meetings. However, things took a concerning turn after a comment I made during a session. I casually mentioned feeling exhausted by hearing about a recent shooting incident. This was simply an expression of personal fatigue, not tied to any political stance. However, Samantha assumed I was referring to a political figure and unprompted, offered her endorsement of him. This felt completely out of place in a therapeutic setting. After this interaction, I was informed that Samantha no longer wished to continue working with me. I was surprised and disappointed, especially because the decision seemed to stem from my values being judged in a space that should have been neutral and non-judgmental. In an attempt to understand what had happened, I reached out to the director of Mindful Health to discuss the situation and express my concerns. Unfortunately, I received no response. This lack of communication, along with the way my situation was handled, made me feel dismissed and unsupported, which is especially troubling for a therapy provider. I cannot recommend Samantha or Mindful Health to anyone seeking a neutral, inclusive, and supportive environment. I had hoped for a more professional and open-minded approach, but instead, I felt that my personal beliefs were a barrier to receiving the care I needed.”
“So im giving a mixed review because I started coming here in person Last August/Sept to group therapy and i felt as if they were always incredibly understanding with my work schedule or when i couldn’t make it. If i told them i wasn’t not coming on a specific day they wouldn’t bother me that day. BUT recently i had started another group therapy at home for women who are pregnant/just had their babies & honestly im extremely upset. I notified them several times i could not join monday & some fridays (mind you they told me group on Tue,Wed & Fri ONLY) magically Monday apperantly. (Which im sorry i cant for my dear life sit from 11am-2pm just talking 4x a week i also have work to do ! So i told them i couldn’t those days and they were fine but yet would call me and text me as if i never told them i wasnt getting on group call & checking if im okay. Moving forward I told them i was going on my honeymoon for a week & specified from what day to what day ill be gone (they literally called & texted me all those days) really annoying. Then they decide text me a day before im supposed to get back on & THREATEN me that if i dont get on group call ill be removed from group? Excuse me i was very clear what days i was not going to get on because i was on my honeymoon. Afterwards Tuesday i get back on etc then Wednesday i couldn’t get on because apparently my card couldn’t get charged they let me know early morning then AGAIN threatened me if i didn't pay by 10am i was going to be removed ??? Hello can people not sleep their morning? So honestly being TWICE threatened about being removed left a very sour taste in my mouth and extremely disappointed on the online group counselors i had. I prefer in person group .”
