What patients say on Google

“I attended the Mind Over Matter program seeking support for anxiety, depression, and recovery after a traumatic accident. While there were some helpful group discussions and I met several supportive participants, my overall experience was disappointing. One of my biggest concerns was the lack of consistency in the program. Groups were frequently combined with unfamiliar participants and staff, which made it difficult to feel comfortable sharing personal experiences. As someone struggling with anxiety, having a predictable and supportive environment is important. I also felt that some of my concerns about transportation and anxiety were not handled with the level of empathy and understanding I expected from a mental health program. Rather than feeling supported, there were times when I felt dismissed and unheard. Mental health treatment should provide a safe space where participants feel respected, understood, and emotionally secure. Unfortunately, this program was not the right fit for my needs. I hope this feedback helps the program improve the experience for future participants.”

“I was at a very dark place and needed help. I found MAM and was nervous to start but was welcomed and not pressured. The atmosphere is so welcoming. Everyone is so friendly. The therapist are truly amazing. The Nurse Practitioner was amazing and actually listened to me. I had a life changing experience and hope to carry the knowledge I learned for a long time. I highly recommend this place to anyone struggling and needing help.”

“Had a shockingly bad experience with an intake interview here. The interviewer was working from home (no problem!). She joined the video call and explained that she would be focusing on her computer while we talked so she could take notes (also no problem). However, during the time we were talking she would ask me in depth, detailed questions about my child's needs, then complete other tasks while I talked, only taking minimal seeming notes. She did however complete other tasks such as opening her mail and letting her dog out. She mentioned at one point that she was also messaging with other co-workers. Later in the interview another person came into the room and did some basic cleaning type tasks such as straightening the sofa, then just sat down and listened in. This person did not seem to be in any related to the interview and appeared to be at home in the living room. Looking back, I realize this was likely a HIPPA violation. Overall I felt completely disrespected and not listened to at all when after an hour she then pointed out that there is a zero tolerance policy for aggressive behavior (the exact problem we are having with my child!) and that my child would be expelled from the program immediately if any was exhibited. Her comments, such as asking the same questions over and over, made it clear that she had not listened to anything I said and that my child was not a good fit for the program despite her saying my child was accepted. What a huge waste of my time!”

“Don’t waste your time or money. They wouldn’t fix a discrepancy I had on one of my records. It was factually false which can be observed in a previous document and could affect my future prospects. Instead the director stated “ we don’t have the providers here with us any more and believe them to be accurate and true”. I sent a formal disagreement email to which they couldn’t even acknowledge and went full ghost. I filed a complaint with the OCR and two days later I get my form to fix my document. To any one in a similar situation needing discrepancies amended, they cannot deny you off of not having providers or off the subjective belief of them being true and accurate . As long as they are in operation and maintaining your records, they must comply with your request or else they are breaking federal HIPPA laws. Also, just a note they’re supposed to inform you of your right to disagree and what that entails to which they did not do. I had to research myself. These people all the way up to the directors really need to touch up on the regulations AND their patients rights that allow them to practice in the first place. Gross Zero stars really should be an option”
