How likely are you to recommend MHMR Authority of Brazos Valley?
What patients say on Google
“Unresponsive, even after several attempts to contact them with important information. No call back, no email response, nothing after emailing the complaint department. What's the point of raising a red flag if nobody is watching? Sad and dangerous!”
“My adult son is an outpatient at MHMR. Counseling is done with a therapist on a computer, not face to face. It is very impersonal. The “session” usually lasts less than 5 minutes. Most therapists /psychiatrists do counseling at this MHMR less than a year and then are replaced. So continuity and building of doctor/patient relationships are virtually non-existent. The Texas mental health system is horrible and the MHMR office here is a prime example of that. Finally, MHMR needs to join the 21st century and remove “Retardation” from its name. If they must keep the “R,” have it stand for something else, such as “Rehabilitation.” My son is greatly offended by the term, “retardation,” as are many of those suffering from mental illness.”
“Do not call the crisis hotline. They send the police even when you specifically told them they have beat you up before. 3 hours later at that. They are here only to arrest people and make money.”
“This place is absolutely a joke ! Tried to take my daughter for assistance and got turned away and we wonder why things are happening to our children when parents are truly trying to get help for our kids you PEOPLE SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELVES!!! Truly ashamed may God have mercy on everyone of you . Shameful”
