What patients say on Google

“I have been to Mesa Springs many times for both detox and mental health stays, and the staff there showed me kindness and compassion during some of the hardest periods of my life. Even when I was far from a perfect patient, I was consistently met with care, patience, and understanding instead of judgment. The facility was always clean, safe, and comfortable, and the food was good as well. The doctors were attentive and present, which made a huge difference. I never felt like just another number there the way I have at some other facilities. The staff genuinely wanted to see me get well and supported. One person who especially stands out in my memory is Ms. Amelia. Even years later, I still remember the compassion she showed me during a very difficult time in my life, and I will always be grateful for that. The outpatient program at Mesa Springs was also incredibly helpful. Being able to participate in group therapy with people going through similar struggles made me feel less alone and gave me a sense of connection and hope. I would highly recommend Mesa Springs to anyone experiencing a mental health crisis or anyone needing help detoxing from substances. They truly care about the people who walk through their doors.”

“The nurses have attitude and every question was a dumb question. When we called to request for a visit with more than two people, we’d get transferred to supervisor and no answer. We called 3-4 times a day at different times for 6 days, still no answer. We left many messages and never a call back. We had to go during visitation time and ask the receptionist, she was nice and helpful and we were able to get the visitation once we spoke to supervisor. We got two 10 minute calls. At first I thought that was too little, I still think it is, but to not interfere and give all patients time to get phone time, it isn’t terrible. The establishment it self is like a jail. There is fighting/arguing almost everyday, I understand this cant be controlled by the nurses, but thats the kind of environment my sister was exposed to. The yoga wasn’t really a yoga class, it lasted 10-20 minutes and mainly talking. The girls spend most of the time watching tv, drawing and talking. There isn’t as much therapy and helpful conversations as we had hoped. For the discharge, the doctor didnt send the paperwork so we had to wait 2 hrs for that. My sister also mentioned that the treatments and diagnosis was always rushed. There is a lot of patients, but I dont think the doctor should rush the diagnosis.”

“Most staff were incredibly rude and one staff there verbally abused me. She said “UGH why are you in here” when I walked down and sat at the chair. I had not ever spoken to her the whole time I was there. One physically hurt me when I was NOT being violent at all and never was. I was sitting down on my bed when this happened. Techs need to be trained properly. Do not go here.”

“Accidentally deleted first review I ever left ooops my bad. Good- Thank you Ms T(Night Shift) you literally rock and are awesome worker. Ms Shawn thank you so much for being a light, Ms Deb hands down thank you for being the best respectable/respectful leader. I highly believe in respect and I don't play about any disrespect at all, I still have that sain part of my brain. Mr. David your awesome and a leader and that stands out& against those who follow and can be triggering at times. I think some techs forget we are the patients, and we aren't there to be triggered by anyone. There needs to be better therapy/more intensive, no reason people me included should leave with strong anxiety still. And some nurses I know be busy, but y'all really could use a talking to concerning urgency and not putting situations off. Because you automatically assume it's anxiety, that's judgemental and bias. And I pray from Doctors to nurses y'all get a better understanding, of you might not deal with anxiety and it doesn't give no one the right to make us that do feel overwhelmed by lack of care in some situations.”
