What patients say on Google

“While the food and beds suck that's not the reason you're there, it's the help you get. I can't say I've been to many of these types of places but the techs, nurses, and case workers are some of the best people I've ever met. Everyone of them genuinely want to help, and genuinely want you to do better, and will go out of their way to do so. The staff here makes up for all of the short comings of the building. The staff deserves 10 stars, but the facility gets zero so I'll average it out at 5 stars.Though I know Noone might read this I still want to thank all the staff I met in my visit.”

“Worst unit ever!!! U get a half of cup of something decaf each meal and the rest of the time you only get water! The food is always cold and disgusting. Everyone in the er are rude and hateful to mental patients. Blonde psychiatrist was nice and always helpful. I don't remember her name. And Jett is an angel. Too bad they didn't all act like that. AND there are no groups or counseling available. They keep u locked up so you can't hurt yourself for a few days and treat you like crap! This is Deborah Capps on my friend's account”

“Don't get why parents allow the kids to be drugged up. as a parent I find this strange. Most kids are trying to do the right thing. Parents, don't pay attention and the child is taken a way from good parents.is drugs really needed? Is the therapist really listening. Are they just wanting a paycheck? It's sad that kids suffers from who is in the wrong. Total BS to me . family pushes and pushes until the volcano eruption comes flowing from not being Heard. Get it straight..”

“Recommendation: In-depth Trauma Informed Training and identifying biases when handling patients would probably be more effective. As well as, developing a selfcare/safe space for staff members while managing frustrated and often mentally unwell patients. In hopes to reduce the amount of burnout the staff members are experiencing, while on shift.... FYI: Patients come from all social standings/classes. As well as education background. Just because a patient "appears fine" or "stable" doesn't always mean they are. Oftentimes, if self admitted for SI... Those that appear "fine" after a few days could be "high functioning" depressed, anxiety or w.e they are admitted for. Experience: I felt seen by my provider, who hesitated to release me. Although, I stated I was ready and fine. He wanted to wait a few days, regardless of what the RNs or Techs were stating in their reports. He used"medication adjustment ' as an excuse to monitor me.... Although, the staff did believe I should of went home 3 days in. If I had, I probably would have relapsed immediately... And would of completed my task. When my mom attempted to call, she stated that she was unable to speak with me. This concerned her. However, I was able to speak with my grandma and cousins. There was an incident with a male tech(float) and passive aggressive comments as well as discussing in things about other patients with another patient. This had been reported, but the staff informed my mom that is was over a "TV", which was incorrect. The issue was regarding the conduct of the staff member. Not the TV. They also attempted to tell my mom that the issue was "not real" and that it was just an "anxiety induced" thought process or "paranoia". They would than encourage the use of Hydroxyzine to calm the nerves.. The supervisor reported this to my mom when my mom made a scene about the issue. My mom ended up pointing out the cameras that caught the incident - as the staff member was right below that camera and the conversation was captured. And yes. Some HIPPA information had been released to another patient, but it would later prove to be incorrect information. So, it was no longer an issue. Upon discharge, an RN stated "you've been in some high end institutions" and "Mariam probably isn't in good quality" as those. This perplexed me, as you can't compare them due to the types of funding each institution is given, as well as state grants and so on. If it's private or state. And so on. Word of advice : Oh, and when one grows up around someone who doesn't like them and the individual is always in survival mode, they tend to be more intune with the individuals around them. This is not an anxiety trait. Only knowing a small portion of the individuals story, doesn't mean it's their whole story. Contrary to popular beliefs or assumptions.”
