What patients say on Google

“I can’t believe just how awful these people were. Making life changing decisions based on 3 minute interactions. Some of them are very kind but the majority treat parents with authoritative condescension. Weird absurd split second judgements made with very poor clinical skill. Which is scary quite frankly. Luckily we didn’t actually have a crisis but I fear for anyone who has to deal with them who does.”

“Same as others, was on a wait list for along time! We finally got a Telehealth appointment, waited a few months. It was canceled because the doctor was sick. We had to reschedule, and wait a few more months. This time she couldn’t do it, because she couldn’t access my son’s chart. We rescheduled it to August, just to get a call saying that appointment is now canceled because the doctor quit. It’s frustrating when the school is looking at you to something, and you can’t even get your child seen for mental/behavioral health because your appointments just keep getting canceled. Hopefully he will be seen before 2025, not holding my breath.”

“After being on a forever waitlist we finally got telehealth therapy meetings, all was going well until we would be sitting waiting only to find out it was cancelled by a supervisor. I even called to make sure appointments were confirmed and had to reschedule dental appointments to ensure my child could make an appointment again only to be sitting staring at a blank screen. Then to call and find out yet again the appointment I called and scheduled was canceled. I even got a text 2 days before to confirm. If this provider can’t provide consistent tools to support handling things and this group that was spoken so highly has continuously disappointed.”

“Our experience with CHKD's Mental Health Program was a complete joke. After waiting for months while we experienced crisis after crisis with our young child, we were seen virtually by Dr. Carl Peterson and a nurse practitioner simultaneously. They clearly had not glanced at her medical history with CHKD, nor reviewed any of the documentation I sent in at their clinic's request. Further, after Dr. Peterson saw oppositional behaviors in my child, that's all he could focus on. He did not want to consider my input, even though he had just met my child (virtually) 30 minutes before. I did not feel he took me seriously. He asked for a follow up visit with myself and my husband to clarify some information, but when we logged on for that appointment (after taking off of work and making arrangements for our child to be elsewhere), Dr. Peterson was nowhere to be found. The NP placed us on hold and tried to find him but was unsuccessful. Then CHKD had the audacity to bill me for that appointment. I now have her medical records to bring to another specialist, but they are worthless. Much of the information in those records is incorrect. It is impossible to find a good pediatric psychiatrist in this area. However, I strongly urge you not to waste 6 more months waiting for CHKD. Keep looking.”
