How likely are you to recommend Mental Health Association of Frederick County?
What patients say on Google
“Worst mental health journey I went down in my entire life! None I mean none of the staff is licensed! They are medicating with no license how is this legal! They put me on something that made no sense and had me going into worst submission! I left and stopped the meds and I feel better than ever! Do not go here ever ever ever! They take your Medicaid money but don’t give a damn about you! Linda Cann is the worst she rushed me through when I questioned her on my diagnosis which was years old! They don’t know what they are doing do not trust them!!!!”
“This is only the 3rd negative review I've written in 20 years. I tried to become a patient here for medication management. They wanted blood tests and EKG, which I agreed to, with the caveat that they tell me why they need the blood test. They refused to tell me why, claiming I was refusing the tests (which is untrue). Either they don't want to reveal to the patient what the blood tests are for, or they are unable to explain their own practices, or they are unwilling to treat their clients like capable adults. None of these possibilities are good. I'm staying far away from this place, and going somewhere where they are more informed, logical, and where they treat their clients appropriately.”
“I loved that it was a walk-in clinic that sees children of all ages without an appointment. They are able to do a very thorough assessment of your child and give a professional recommendation on what steps to take next. If your child is having a mental health crisis and your not sure what to do this place is a life-saver. Your child can receive immediate one one one services vs sitting in the E.R. for hours waiting to be seen. They not only provide an assessment of your child(so you can decide if they need to be admitted to a facility, is it safe for them to come home, do they need to follow up with a professional etc)they will develop a safety plan with them, coping skills etc and provide a though counseling session with the child and the parent both. We were sent home with a plan and list of who to call and what to do. They provided more care and guidance in an hour and half than my child received in two weeks prior at another inpatient facility.”
“Counselor De Smedt helped me make it through one of the worst events of my life. I can now happily say that I'm mostly free of the anxiety and stress that completely stopped my life's journey for almost two years. I also was able to process the events of the past and overcome serious trauma thanks to her help. Now I look forward to being in social events again and spending time with other people... something that seemed impossible when I made my first appointment!”
