What patients say on Google
“I am writing as a frustrated patient at this point. I had reached out a few weeks ago regarding my adverse reactions to the current medication that Sarah had put me on. I was told to switch that medication to daytime and if that was not working, to call back. I was experiencing insomnia, elevated anxiety levels, constant chest pain (from the elevated anxiety), whooshing auditory and even "icy hot" feeling all over my body at night time. I went to see my primary doctor LAST Tuesday and she voiced the concern to please contact the doctor whom prescribed the medication. I did as she suggested, only to be told 3 days in a row that someone would return my call regarding my concerns, to which it never happened. On the 3rd day that I called, I was highly frustrated by this point, and was told to contact my PCP. I told the lady that I had already done so and was instructed to contact the office that prescribed me the medication. Mind you, I've dealt with anxiety and OCD for 25 years. I know when a medication is not making me "feel right" per say. Your office proceded to tell my PCP that I was "rude". I apologize, but working in mental health, you should recognize someone's frustration, especially someone with extreme anxiety after a professional has not shown any concern regarding my concerns and wouldn't return my call. I am trying to advocate for myself and my health. I was then told that Sarah would be back this week and would call me regarding my concerns. Here it is Wednesday and AGAIN, I have NOT received ANY call from my mental health provider regarding my concerns for the last 3 weeks. This is extremely unacceptable and unprofessional especially when you have someone very concerned about the effects of a medication that is altering their brain chemical imbalance. Please do better! Mental health is NOT a joke and we seek help as a last resort! Edited to add: I patiently waited THREE weeks for the provider to call me back regarding the medication and she NEVER called me. Super unprofessional! I am NOT a licensed psychiatrist and had to wean myself off of the meds with my PCP's help (who is also not a licensed psychiatrist).”
“Today was my little boys first apt. I wasn’t comfortable at all. I hate theropy with all means but my son needs it for school I sat and observed and she told me in middle of session she almost told me to leave twice. With asking my 6 year old who knows nothing about sex sex questions. Other than that I liked her”
“I have been coming here for a while and I loved it up until recently when I was told that I will now have to find another psychiatrist/counselor to deal with because I missed an appointment. I am going through a situation where I really need counseling not to mention I basically work two jobs to make ends meet, one of them very high stress where it is hard for me to take time off for anything.... So it's not always easy for me to remember appointments. Plus I have to coordinate around other people's schedules to get rides where I need to go because I don't have a vehicle. I called the office because I had a feeling I missed an appointment and was told by the receptionist that I can't come back because I missed two appointments . She didn't even give me a chance to explain or ask for forgiveness. Just threw me away like I was a piece of garbage. I get that you have rules for a reason but you could at least take the time to listen to the person who needs to explain why they missed an appointment. Now I have to go through finding another counselor that will take my insurance which are few and far between in Natchitoches.”
“She is terrible and very discriminatory, and her communication skills are not there. She just jumped out of her chair and got extremely aggressive with me all because I expressed that I feel like she doesn’t listen to me and I’ve expressed this before. I was not rude, aggressive, or irate. I remained calm and put me out of her office and threatened to call the police for no reason at all. If you are black, please do not go to this office she will make you feel unseen and unheard. I’ve seen how she is towards Caucasian people and how she acts with African Americans. She was so aggressive and in my face, I felt threatened and afraid.”
