What patients say on Google

“My doctor seems to wonderful but trying to reach her is a nightmare. She called with test results today and I called right back because I was actually on the phone with the office about a prescription when she called. I asked the person on the phone to please tell her what happened AND I called just to be sure. 30 second delay on my part. I was told they were running back to tell her right now. Then nothing. Tried back in a couple of hours. Answering machine. Left a message. No one called me back. Called again. Actually reached a person. They sent me to the medical assistant. No one picked up and there was no way to leave a message. So I called the main number back. Got the answering machine again. I left another message. No one called me back. Again. I called again and it said the office was closed. I called the hospital where she also has an office and they said there was no way to reach her. This is not my first problem reaching someone but I have been anxiously waiting for results for over 3weeks so this is by far the most serious. I will be escalating this complaint because you don’t ignore people like this. It’s just unethical. Update 5/29/26 (next day) Today about 10:30 AM I called the patient advocate number again. Chelsea was kind and after telling her only half of what happened she said she would reach out to the “director” and have someone call me back. Then the manager of the Okemos office,Quinn called me and stated that my doctor is not in today. So…after 6 or more attempts to reach out to them yesterday she did not call me back knowing that she would be gone on Friday?? How does someone do that if they know you are anxious about results? I was told that my doctor would call me on MONDAY. MONDAY. I explained the situation further and the manager apologized however expressed that nothing could be done. She eventually said she could text the doctor. Which she did. Then Quinn called me and said that the doctor has to give me the results directly but the doctor instructed her to tell me that it is not fatal and not something that needs treatment today. Alright. So if it was, let’s say, disease X. Is there an emergency treatment? No. But will it reduce lifespan and mobility? Possibly since I’m already having increasingly disturbing symptoms including serious balance issues. So will it kill me today? I hope not, but are there ramifications, possibly serious that will affect my quality of life? In the end this was handled so unprofessionally and I’m very disappointed because I felt I found a doctor who had true empathy. I apparently was wrong. We are the reason doctors are even in business and I feel what situations like this ultimately reveal is that we aren’t treated well when it comes to connecting with human. Not the patient but the human part of us suffering with pain, exhaustion, illness…and I know sometimes we are too tired to fight back. Then again it shouldn’t be a fight to get good healthcare. Insurance is more and expensive and care continues to plummet.”

“I had a new patient appointment scheduled with this office that was confirmed via message on January 26th. I arrived for my appointment only to be told it had been canceled on January 28th and that the physician was not in the office. I was never notified of this cancellation. I have been struggling with chronic migraines for years and was especially looking forward to this appointment after experiencing a severe episode the night before. It was extremely disappointing and frustrating to prepare for this visit and be hopeful that maybe I could get some answers on what I’ve been struggling with, only to be turned away. As someone who works in healthcare, I understand that scheduling issues happen. But patients should be properly notified, especially when dealing with chronic health conditions. The front desk associate that was there today (Friday 2/27/2026) was very kind and apologetic and tried her very best to resolve the issue which I truly appreciated. However, I hope the office reviews its notification processes to prevent this from happening to others.”

“This office is unresponsive, they don't answer their phone. When I went in and I was given one prescription ( that I had to call my insurance company to approve ahead of time.) I was told there was a second one they could prescribe it took weeks to get ahold of someone to move forward with the second one and when I got frustrated with the process I was given other doctors I could go to. They sent my prescription in wrong and waited a month to and lied about when it was sent in.( i confirmed this with my insurance company) I do not recommend using this office.”

“I was so hopeful for this office after being stuck in constant pain for 6 months. It has been very disappointing. The office staff has been rude on the phone, they don’t order what they say they have, and then we drove an hour and a half there for a procedure to be told they can’t do it because of a medication I’m on from a sinus infection, with no apology. No one told us ahead of time the prerequisites of the procedure or that the meds I couldn’t take in order to receive it. No sympathy for having to wait even longer. They should tell people way ahead of time, not after driving all the way there.”
